Whether or not this new Dolby Vision picture on Apple of the first film is a new master or not, I will say that, looking at it now, this looks far more balanced than the HDR10/HDR10+ versions.

Based on the first video, no, this is not the master that was on the 3D of Jurassic Park.

HOWEVER, just based on what I’m seeing with this Dolby Vision version vs the HDR10+ version I’m use to, this is the best I’ve ever seen it. Is it possible that it’s a new master that doesn’t have the fixes the 3D had and Spielberg went back to the original, original version? Maybe. He did so with E.T. Doubtful but I don’t know. But, I like what I see with this version.

As far as I know, most of the 3D conversion changes were not adopted for the previous 4K HDR master.

The strings on the Dilophosaurus' frill were removed on the old UHD (as they were for 3D), so I guess that would be one place to check.

Did Universal go back to the raw 4K files that were used to create those 2018 masters and fix the DNR, edge enhancement, zoomed-in framing, crushed black levels and magenta tint problems or not?

That is the real question I want answered.

The threads for the releases have gone digging for information the moment that the releases with announced and came back with that from the sources they found. You can head over there and read all about it if you want to get into all that stuff.

Nobody will fix King Kong, it has Jackson's signature tricks and processing all over it. Shame about its aggressive HDR grade, though, I would love if it looked similar to The Hobbitses / LOTR.

I was under the impression that the jury is still out on whether these are new masters, and that the attempts to find out that kicked off when this steelbook was announced didn't lead to anything conclusive. Is that wrong?

The strings on the Dilophosaurus' frill, at 1:13:37, are clearly visible on the current HD SDR stream on itunes.

Still no Atmos audio via playback on an AppleTV.

The color grading for the early scene of the lawyer visiting the amber dig site appears slightly warmer than the old 2011 transfer.

The Welcome To Jurassic Park scene grading looks similar to the 2011 transfer.
The tall dinosaur's head, Brachiosaurus, is visible in the various wideshots.
I believe it was cutoff in the 2013+ transfers in a shot or two.
On the HD stream, highlights are clipped.

Jurassic Park is showing as showing as HD Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos on the UK iTunes as is JP3 with The Lost World HD HDR10+

Assume within the next day or so they will all get their 4K stream back.

JP and JP3 have the full DV/DA itunes upgrade. JP2/TLW is still HRD10+. I probably will take out my Italian/German 4K disc and take screenshots. I only have 1 picture of the itunes/HDR10+ version and that was to compare it to the VHS version.

Any timestamps anyone wants to recommend, I'm happy to help.
