USA The Graduate Blu-ray DVD

I'm pissed, I bought "The Graduate" Blu-ray from Barnes and Noble and I got the regular non-anamorphic DVD when I'm supposed to get the 40th ann DVD with the special features, it's bad enough that the Blu-ray lacks them but for Fox to screw me like thats wrong, since everybody else got the 40th ann. DVD with their blu ray! I'm gonna email Fox on this issue!

Hmmm,

I recently bought the Graduate on Blu Ray from Bj's for $9.99.

I never thought about even looking at the DVD that's in there (since I have the Blu.) I guess I'll go check it out.

You're that pissed over a DVD when you have the blu-ray? I would say I feel your pain but I honestly don't like DVD that much. I will say good luck and I hope they accommodate you.

The 40th Ann. DVD had an anamorphic picture had the extras including commentaries, that's what I'm pissed about! I got a DVD of the 1999 version! Had an eco-case too!

I bought it on B&N online, I guess I can try to take it back to a B&N store, but it will probably have the same problem. But you never know! The one my friend got a few months back DID NOT come in an eco case and came with the 40th Ann DVD.

Thanks, gonna do that tomorrow. Fox probably ran out of 40th ann. DVD and started putting in these 2005 DVD's instead(not a 1999 SE one I'm sorry, this one is non anamorpic and has a trailer only) All the newer ones probably have this cheap ass treatment!

Mine could have the old DVD,... it won't bother me though.

I think I recently sold back that same DVD when I picked up the Blu.

Since the Blu was only $9.99 for me and I'll never want to watch a DVD of something I have on Blu Ray... I'm not going to try to exchange it but .... I am curious now so I'ma gonna go check.

This made me just check mine. I'm good since its the correct 40th Anniv. Edition that it's suppose to be. I honestly wouldn't have thought to look though as I am mainly concerned with the blu-ray disc.

40th anniversary version here and no eco case either ... woot.

You have reason to be peeved by this but the packaging doesn't promise any particular DVD either.

Good Luck with the exchange.

I bought mine when it was first released on BD and it contained the 40th Ann DVD so you can hear the commentary tracks etc.... very very odd and shady that they are just pulling which ever disc for it....

I would do this take it back and just say the disc just locks up and you want an even exchange.... then take it home see if it is the correct DVD inside.

Trying to explain to a sales person there could just make it more confusing over the edition of the DVD included. I would just keep it simple. Some copies have to be correct you may even want to try another location.

Yea take it back and there is no reason to be pissed over a dvd because you have something better than that.

Glad to hear the good news Mr. White.

Just checked mine -- 40th Anniversary DVD, non eco-case. Purchased it on day one, so it sounds like this might be a more recent issue. But like some of the others, I never even checked the DVD until tonight.

The bluray is quite nice looking BTW.

Yes it is a fine looking blu-ray (just finished watcing it,gonna watch the extras that are on the 40th Ann DVD hopefully on Sat.), it seems like "The Graduate" Blu-ray + DVD set is like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.

For those who bought it recently: does it still come with old DVD instead of 40th Anniversary? I want to buy it but only with 40th Anniversary.

Did someone already make this joke:

Yeah, well I didn't mind until the blu ray looked worse than the DVD...

Sadly, the newer pressings seem to have the old 1999 DVD with no special features and it's non anamorphic, and to top it all of it comes in an eco-case! The first pressings HAD the newer 40th Ann DVD included and NO eco case!

Well, that's just idiotic. One of the main points of them even including DVD copies with a lot of their recent releases is because they house all the special features. It allowed them to release the blu-rays bare bones. They took a short cut basically. So replacing the DVD with a bare bones version is counter productive. I'm going to have to check my copy when I get home. It never even occurred to me to check the DVD.
