Can anyone advise alternatives for SR? Already tried DiabolikDVD though they are out of stock of the titles I wanted..

Is that what it is?

I had the same issue last year, and again a month or so back, when I tried to make yet another order. No order went through, but they still but a hold on the funds for a week.

I would love to get a few things in this sale, but I can't just keep making orders hoping that one of them eventually will go through.

I have checked my credit card app and basically the charge was registered and counts towards your remaining credit card balance, but the charge hasn't been booked. I have three bookings from Sunday when I tried three times, and one from today. None have been cancelled. I've emailed Grindhouse, hoping for a reply.

I have no other reason to believe this is the reason why the sale isn't going through. In which case I'm going to look into how I can obtain a method of purchasing as a US card. There are sites that block you even if you use PayPal.

A lot of those SR titles on grindhouse video were often on sale for much cheaper as recent as last year elsewhere. In fact I have a few of them.

Maybe your forwarder works on these.

Someone from Grindhouse replied to me and said to try and having the same billing address. Did that, no difference. Giving up. The only real title I want is City On Fire with Ava Gardner so I'll wait until Diabolik has it back in stock. Peace.

It's not my forwarder that is the issue, although maybe you mean the services that purchase for you and also forward. Neither of the above have the titles I want, but thanks anyway.

Well, yeah, several places got rid of all their Scorpion and Code Red titles in huge sales last year. I bought quite a lot of them myself.

That does not help much now, though. Grindhouse Video supposedly bought the remaining stock of the Scorpion/ Code Red releases, so this is what is left. The other retailers are not going to get anymore in stock, because the labels have closed and the stock has been sold off (to GHV). For many titles, GHV therefore remains the only chance of getting a copy, aside from going the eBay route.

I know Grindhouse has had some issues with PayPal before, which is why they do not offer this solution anymore, but it is really frustrating that a simple credit or debit card charge still can go wrong for them. I was very happy with their service, when I used them before all this started to happen last year. I would have loved to continue using them as an alternative to OrbitDVD etc. had it not been for this issue.

Yeah, "supposedly" is the operative word there. A good while after GHV claimed, or was given to understand, that they were purchasing all remaining stock of CR/Scorpion titles, there was a one-time drop of a huge number of those titles on Hamilton Books. HB had them priced at fire sale prices $5-$7 and all the most wanted ones sold out very fast.

Just in case anyone has overlooked it, Grindhouse Video is having a 'Liquidation Sale'. Most Scorpion (& Code Red) titles are marked anywhere from 10%-50% off...

Holding out for 90%. These never sold more than 300 copies anyway, sad to say.

I was reviewing Scorpion's titles and I know that Kino Lorber has picked up a handful of them for 4kUHD release. The ones I am aware of are:

Death Wish 3 (1985)
The Mechanic (1972)
Death Ship (1980)
Silent Scream (1979)
Terror Train (1980)

That had me wondering if there were any other Scorpion Blu-ray releases that Kino Lorber might be looking at for release on 4kUHD. Do any particular titles stand out as possibilities? I would assume that Kino might consider some of the other horror titles that Scorpion released or possibly an action title like "The Dogs of War".

Well, they seem to be working with Dark Force lately~so I would guess that more down the line are definitely a possibility. I don't know what titles DeFalco has access to though
