Well well package was delayed in transit. That and Dark City still in limbo, worst luck I've had with Amazon in years.

I didn't own The Lost World or JP3 before, so the steelbook was worth it.
NA copy? Mind checking the JP3 issue?

I only see the pixelation with HDR.

It is not present when Dolby Vision is active.

Felt the same watching it last night. I really like Kaminski's style here and how it comes across on the disc. The random DNR felt a bit odd, but very minimal at least. Audio very good as well.

I checked my Jurassic Park III disc. I have the same issue. I'm guessing chances are 0 there's a replacement program for the disc?

I indeed didn't try with a proper DV setup, just HDR10. For DV, the closest thing I have for now is a DV laptop, but it doesn't work with FEL, I think (I tried with the laptop too, and its screen's DV logo popped up, but my programs ignore FEL AFAIK, so I saw the pixelation with this one setup too).

Well, anyway, does anyone have any insight on how can this be? So can DV/FEL really fix such a thing (I mean the pixelation is gigantic for those 7 frames)?

You do have to be cautious when judging colors by 35mm release print scans. Most scans out there were not remotely carefully color-calibrated and many set to a non-theatrical projection white point and for stuff before 1983/1982 many are from red faded prints and the re-grading of the scans was just but whatever seemed sensible to the pare particular person doing it and also some release prints are outliers and timed weirdly so there is always a chance of that. Many earlier scans are radically far off. From what I've seen only a tiny faction are really close at all and a bare few really, really close, that said it can still be useful and from a few scans extremely useful.

Carefully compared and adjusted to original print. That said I think some of the demo pics there are from earlier on in the project where calibration may have been in a less refined state and not as exacting yet.

This is caused by an endless amount of factors including incorrect scan settings, scanner quality, scene by scene adjustments, personal taste of the "fan".. which is also most of time greatly influenced by his memories of versions he is used to.
You truly hit the nail on the head when it comes to the general attitude towards "teal".
As a matter of fact, some 35mm scans born as an answer to modern revisionistic gradings end up mirroring the magenta home video version, only with dirt, scratches, gamma issues, and softer picture.
Looking nothing like the raw scan, which in fact is almost always a copy of the modern revisionistic grading just in organic form.

I honestly wouldn't trust half of the "35mm scans" around.
You can fully trust the JP screenshot I shared though, entirely exempt from every single factor I listed previously.
Agreed that most of the 35mm scans around and not very trustable for colors. That said the other scan posted here is one being built up with very exacting methods. Careful calibration for film stock and then directly side by side calibrated with actual print on top (something done for almost no 35mm scans out there). And timed to D56 and not by just setting optical track as pure white as most scans do and which is not correct most of the time. I think some of the samples here from it are from earlier on though before it was deeper into calibration stage.

I think these ones are from deeper into calibration stage:
[Show spoiler]

That said to all get the new discs. They bring plenty of things no 35mm scans out there can too.

It's hard to really recall but I don't seem to recall coming out of theater thinking JPIII looked crummy.

Same here on the Panasonic 9000. The pixelation does not occur when using DV.

If I disable DV, the error is there.

Just got my UK 4k trilogy from HMV eBay storefront. Can confirm the pixelation at 1:16:04 only in HDR. No issues in DV.

The 4k DV/DA discs are European discs with English Atmos, French, German Atmos, Italian and Spanish.

I habe the 4k trilogy in the UK with French dub. The problem will be widespread across all JP 3 DV/DA discs.

Yes but now I'm wondering whether the people with the Euro set who said there's no pixelation are watching in Dobly as well? I mean, I'm happy that the FEL fixes it in either case but when I get my set today the first thing I'll check is JPIII in HDR10.
