Is there a 6-disc version of the just the first three movies? I probably asked elsewhere in thread and forgot.

So I'm guessing this 7-movie collection, https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Juras...lu-ray/392153/ , will have the exact same discs for the first six movies as these will have? (all having Dolby Vision):

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Juras...lu-ray/386945/

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Juras...lu-ray/386944/

Do we know what the packaging will be like for the 7-movie collection?

i.e. individual cases for each movie or a more compact set? (I prefer the latter)

Here it looks like it will be a single compact case, but not sure if just a placeholder or not:

Short of buying the releases individually, this collection (which also includes Jurassic World) is the closest you’re going to get for a set with 4K + Blu-ray.

After reading your several posts, i took a time to check this.

apart from a, maybe slight mixing difference during the sequence ( front scene mostly), i did not notice anything weird about the glass sound. Comparing the old release and new release, i wasnt not shocked by anything sounding weird.

For what it is worth.

Just watched my copy of JP1 and I honestly loved the picture and audio quality. Sounds like there are a lot of pros and cons to the new Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sets that just came out. I’m happy I got that initial 25th Anniversary 4-film set, and have no plans to double dip.

What are the cons to the new DV versions of the movies that didn't have DV before?

TLW is extremely similar but has added filtering/DNR

JP3 has a glitch in HDR10 (fixed with DV)

All 3 have remixed audio with no 'original/theatrical' mixes

I rewatched the first Lost World 4K last night and was again really happy with it especially now it seems the addition of DV on the new disc comes with the major IMO negative of additional filtering/DNR.

All I kept thinking whilst watching the disc was how much better it looked than the original JP 4K and how better integrated the CGI elements were in the Lost World.

I'm curious to see the original movie's DV makeover as I find the first 4K really underwhelming in most scenes.

Having also watched JP World Rebirth at the cinema recently, it makes me miss the practical filmmaking that dominated the first two Jurassic movies which were so much more convincing because of the animatronic dinos.

In the absence of a site review, I’d probably grade the video of JP with a 4.2 and the video of the lost world as a 4.0

It’s ironic that the first film now looks better than the second. There are still too many visual anomalies with JP1 to grade it any higher. Some scenes have decent grain others it’s more of a visual mush.

Decent grain

Visual mush

I could understand if the poorer looking scenes were all CGI derived but that isn’t the case. The CGI scenes are a further step down in quality so really it’s a mixed bag.

Has anyone even reached out to Universal to report the issue and get a response? From what I've been reading, it's just people reporting it on here and no one has made an attempt to contact them.

Yep, that whole scene (apart from the cutaways to Eddie) has been blatted with DNR for no reason whatsoever.

Interesting that in the caps the color of the newer transfer seems dialed back. I did an active A-B comparison of the two discs a few weeks ago and felt the opposite. Of course, that was DV vs HDR10, and as always the caps have been converted for the website. The DNR still stings either way.

The two Lost Worlds are all but identical to me in DV vs HDR10, it's literally the same grade with some tiny tweaks to a few shots.
