I haven't seen it yet, im not much of a TV show guy. Love them, but it's hard for me to commit to a show, especially when there are so many seasons. Always been more of a movie dude, but im slowly but surely catching up on shows. It's on my list!

Well if you're not much of a tv guy I'd honestly skip it. It's a great show but there's FAR better to spend your time on.

I'll humbly suggest these 3 masterpieces.

The only reason I had interest in Ozark initially was because of her (big time The Americans fan).

Saw it and enjoyed it. Best part without a doubt was Galactus. The SurHer was ok but Sue’s overpowered moment at the end was a bit too much. Nevertheless, I’d recommend it.

Still don’t see this new film until Tuesday. But I just finished rewatching the 3 prior Fantastic 4 films and wow they all sucked hadn’t seen them for many years and they haven’t aged well.

Fantastic Four (2005) - 4 out of 10
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer - 5 out of 10
Fant4stic - 2 out of 10

I expect First Steps will be far far far better. Looking forward to it.

Could you imagine even 20-30% of us Americans agreeing to do anything to save the planet? We are very stubborn and selfish as a people. And that's just one country. I imagine other countries would be the same.

While watching the movie the thought made me do the 'huh' face, but thinking about it now, that plan would make zero sense.
You didn't live in the '60s, did you? Yeah, people would have done this.

Read about The Blitz during WWII.

I wonder why they didn't use Alicia Masters instead of a made up new character.

And what happened to John Malkovich from the trailer?
I bet they didn’t use Alicia because when the FF eventually cross over to the 616 they want Ben to hook up with the 616 Alicia.

PROS:

[Show spoiler]- I feel like this was originally going to be the third film. New family members. Male Silver Surfer is missing so there's a new herald. Galactus comes back for revenge.

- We saw The Fantastic Four's origin in 2005, which was done well, so there was no need to see it again. But that does explain how Franklin got his powers though.

- Jessica Alba was just eye candy. Vanessa Kirby nailed it as Sue Storm!

- The comic book feel reflecting the 1960s setting was a visual wonder.

- The special effects.

- Clever use of the The Fantastic Four's powers.

- I never liked HERBIE, but the writers made him fit.

- Shalla-Bal didn't bother me. (Most of us know Norrin Radd is better though.)

- Galactus was worth the wait. The look. The voice. I almost damn near cried when he finally made his debut. AURA!

- Best cliffhanger since The Avengers! You'll never see it coming!

CONS:

[Show spoiler]- No Marvel Studios logo fanfare again was a bummer.

- The Fantastic Four fighting Giganto should've been the opening sequence. It would've been an epic introduction for the team. I'm also dumbfounded they didn't include the footage from the Little Caesar's commercial to add to the scene!

- Cutting Red Ghost was bullshit. They could've shown him at least.

- Pedro Pascal should've shaved his damn mustache. (Go argue with a wall.)

- Chris Evans & Michael Chiklis had better chemistry than Joseph Ebon & Moss-Bachrach in The Thing & Human Torch roles.

- A little too much talking that might turn off some fans.

- No connection to Thunderbolts. WTF?!!

- I appreciated the 1967 cartoon tribute, but I wish they played the original theme song. I would've popped more for it!
Despite most of my minor complaints, I really enjoyed First Steps and it makes up for some of the mid Marvel movies in Phase 4 & 5. I haven't walked out of the theater this satisfied since Multiverse Of Madness.

(Deadpool & Wolverine is in it's own category.)

After watching this movie, which was self contained and didn’t require homework and had a beginning, middle, and end. I really hope after Secret Wars, Fiege goes back to method of film making. This really felt like Phase One MCU movie. The Phase One movies told their own story and only the end stinger tied it larger MCU, go back to that.

I also liked the distinctive world building. Captain America looked and felt completely different to Thor. Recently, too many of the Marvel movies have aesthetically looked the same. Marvel have now done the house style and continuity path they need to make individual and distinctive movies now. Movies that audiences want to go to the cinema to see rather than movies they feel they can skip.

Also, make fewer movies. Fewer movies means you can refine your scripts, which will result in more focused productions. If the script is locked down then you don’t have to have lighting and sets that are modular so you can have multiple versions during production. Have a singular vision. The CG studios will thank you for it. It’s not fair on them to quote a price and have them make multiple changes.

Fantastic Four was a return to what I love about the MCU. Marvel have strayed too far away from what used makes them great. FF showed they still have greatness in them.
