I seen this at the theatre playing on a digital projector and laughed out loud at the crude Professor X scene. Terrible, just terrible.

And if you're going to have bad special effects, you need a good story. This movie didn't have that either.

I guess they had to put a lot of re-shoots just to make the film more "realistic".

I think the story was cool, the fx on the other hand was okay.

The claws looked rather fake. It was quite noticeable. The plot was a struggle especially since I'm not a big xmen fan. I did however put my new sub to the test with this movie. The aq is top notch and very active surround sound.

You mean the group running to the helicopter that was obviously against a blue screen?

I thought I was watching Who Framed Roger Rabbit? when I first saw his claws. I expected them to start singing.

I seriously laughed out loud in the theater when I saw his claws in the bathroom scene. I was amazed that anyone in the production let that through.

That is exactly what I thought of in the bathroom scene!!

That was really my only complaint about the effects. They weren't great, far from it most of the time. But they weren't mind numbingly terrible either. They really never pulled me out of the movie except for the bathroom scene, that part was just utterly crappy.

Yeah, the bathroom scene was simply laughable (which is why I laughed!

) - but I didn't think anything else was horrible. I thought the rest of the CGI was either passable, or quite well done.

My problem with the movie was the script and the lack of creativity using the characters and their powers.

Having the Blob in the movie was a complete waste. Same with half the other characters.

I thought his claws looked terrible throughout the whole movie, they were much more realistic looking in X1.
