That appears to be the case. This is probably a port of the Italian UK/BD from a couple of years ago. I was hoping for Italian audio with English subtitles. The Italian 4K/BD only had foreign subtitles, no English. It had both English and Italian audio, but no English subtitles.

That said, this Alfredo Leone restoration is the best that BLACK SUNDAY has ever looked, and I did see it in a theater back in 1961.

No slipcover or new extras for THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES 4K. It does, however, also include a 2.0 audio option in addition to the original 5.1 audio, and of course all the pre-existing Uni BD extras.

I'm so glad they put the original poster art and not some crappy new one!

Here's hoping someone finally does justice to the the 1922 version over here in North america. I'm still clinging to my Eureka and BFI region B, in the hopes that someone else than Kino will release this again one day.
The BFI won't have a slip or booklet? I thought it was standard for them to have slips at least, but I don't have any BFI releases in my collection (Nosferatu is/was going to be my first.)

So basically October doesn't mean anything now for this company when it comes to prioritizing horror movies releases. I definitely was expecting Day of the dead and the prom night movies that were said to being worked on months ago. I guess I'm just stupid?

The Place Beyond the Pines deserves better, not even a damn slip? I’ll gladly still purchase the 4K since it’s one of my favorites but so disappointing not to see anything new in terms of extras. Hopefully a UK label can give the film more attention.

Shout really needs to include a slip with every release. It makes the most business sense, since more people are inclined to buy early if there is a slip compared to not. You'll often see people holding off on slipless releases and just waiting till there's a sale, since a major incentive for buying it early is removed.

Red Shirt Pictures and Synapse have the Prom Night movies, not Shout.

Ordered the Chinese Ghost Story Trilogy and Black Sunday. I'm happy the former is coming out so quickly, I thought we'd have to wait until next year.

I am so mad with these releases. I was expecting: Dawn of the Dead, Martin, Night Flier, Day of the Dead, The Devils, Song of the South, The Last Shark, and Stepford Wives.

In fact, I just smashed my TV in front of 30 guests at my party because of these release announcements. My wife just took our crying kids and said they’re all spending the week at a hotel. This company has ruined my life and my party. I can’t handle this anymore. Goodbye Shout/Scream Factory. I am no longer a fan.

[Show spoiler]
JK: looking forward to checking out End of Days, Black Sunday, and Nosferatu

I said slipcase, I meant slipbox, like their Seven samurai. There might be a regular slipcover, I don't know about that. There is no mention of a booklet.

Now that the specs are out, it seems the BFI version has way more extras. It has these two special features that aren't in Scream's release:
-Contracting Vampirism: A Copyright History of Nosferatu (2025, 15 mins): a new video essay by filmmaker and photographer Nic Wassell
-Screen Talk: Werner Herzog (2016, 69 mins): Werner Herzog reflects on his career in this on-stage interview with broadcaster Francine Stock at the BFI London Film Festival.

I'm wondering now which version I should get. The scream factory has an extra blu ray (so two copies of the movies) but the BFI will have more extra. If it had a slipbox or a booklet, I would have gone for it.

The four titles I'll be picking up next year from Shout! Factory's October 2025 slate are the following titles.

The Place Beyond the Pines
Nosferatu
Catch-22 I'll be reading the book this year, but I do love the movie a lot very very excited about this one so much.
Chinese Ghost Story Trilogy

Catch-22 is a big pickup for Shout! Factory a very big pick up it was either them, or Criterion that had this one, but I'm glad it's Shout! Factory in this case.

Now what I'm wondering is if Shout! Factory has Heartburn too considering the Mike Nichols love from them this year I could definitely see them having Heartburn.

Or maybe Heartburn could be a Cinematographe title too
