Obviously being facetious. But yeah I don't subscribe to much. Becomes too expensive and not really worth the money IMO since it takes years between seasons of shows now. I usually just wait a for a physical release if I can't catch stuff on what I have or in the theater. Why I ain't too sad about the short window between airing and physical release for stuff.

I liked Rebirth. It was a return to the original trilogy and was much better than any of the Pratt stuff.

Yes I get everything the day it hits streaming and I'm a tech incompetent but my friend isn't.

Most films, I've already seen with Regal Unlimited.

The good movies I buy but generally never Day One but I broke down on Kraven steelbook to get all the formats. I neglected Sinners steelbook so now it's too late so waiting for BF and since I saw it at the theater and also have it I can wait. But if Walmart of Amazon finds a stash, I'll buy up to $40.

Where there's a will there's a way and The Studios and Theaters are still making money off me but if Regal keeps raising the price, I will cancel. $30 is my breaking point.

You all should talk to young people who know their computers and phones inside and out and ask how they view movies, restricted sporting events.

Not really on board with the "If I watch 8000 movies on it, the price per movie is cheaper" narrative at play here. If I spent every waking hour watching Netflix I would certainly be maximizing it's "value" but I would certainly be losing out on other aspects of life. It seems like there's an effort to try to normalize BB's very weird habits, from them and also others. I don't wish ill on them for it, but I will certainly acknowledge how odd it is.

Depends on what we're talking about.

Movie theaters have a limited supply of new releases, and their runtimes are also restrained to just a couple of hours. I am seeing as many releases as I can for what I want (now at 47 films for the year, only nine "rotten"), have re-watched six of them at least once, and I have found my time and money to be of incredible value.

Netflix has a pantheon of movies and shows, many of them mediocre at best, and shows are a massive investment of time. I finally gave myself the opportunity to binge the final season of The Blacklist this past week, which consumed several hours of each day. I only gave it the time because of the other nine seasons I watched as the show aired, otherwise I ain't doing that for everything.

I've re-watched every Nolan film 3-5 times in theater that has 15/70mm IMAX prints, but outside of that (and Top Gun: Maverick eight times) it's rare that I will give a film several theatrical rewatches. Repeat viewings are much more justified when you don't spend a dime to see them, though.

I won't tell somebody how to spend their time or money, but if they are watching a new film in theater a double-digit number of times with a theater subscription and are enjoying themselves, at least I can say they are getting to see that film sooner than you, with more immersive picture/sound and a more interactive audience than any of y'all are waiting for it at home, and my one theater subscription is cheaper than any two of your streaming services.

Seems like Jurassic World Rebirth is a big winner

Both Superman 2025 and First Steps just did not have the same appeal for whatever reason. Superhero fatigue or a 100 other reasons.

There is just so much entertainment and sports content out there the dollars are all competing and Rebirth just won the Summer Brass Ring.

I thought it was ok and will probably buy it on BF as I have all the other films but it wasn't great or as emotionally satisfying as Dominion which apparently has a lot of hate on this forum despite this:
Budget $185–465 million
Box office $1.004 billion

If you read the footnotes on Wiki it looks like Universal made a decent profit off of both Dominion and Fallen Kingdom which was the green light for Rebirth.

I don't think you really understood my point. I wasn't making any stance on theaters vs streaming. I was saying that no matter how you justify seeing a movie 16 times in two weeks, on top of other movies in that timeframe, that is an incredibly excessive amount of time to spend in the movie theatre. Not to mention the amount of time going to and from the screen (maybe BB lives across the street from one of these theatres though, who knows). You said it yourself here that you've only done this a handful of times in your entire movie going adult life:

BB seems to do this for every MCU movie and then some more. I don't think there's any amount of justification anyone can make that makes this less abnormal. There's also other clear signs to me that they are obsessive about movies and fandom to a point where I simply cannot fathom a healthy life around it. It's just been interesting to see some people try to defend this behavior as anything other than absurd. Kind of reminds me of the folks who scream "body positivity" at anyone who calls an obese person obese.

By the way, to bring the MoS vs. S25 box office debate into the limelight again, those who "adjust for inflation" are only doing it for their box offices and not their budgets.

Each film spent $225 million on production, but when you adjust for inflation then MoS's budget today would've been about $310 million.

MoS also had a marketing budget of $150 million, which would be about $205 - $210 million today. It has been reported that S25 spent anywhere between $125 - $200 million on marketing. So at best that's as a wash, but we could be potentially comparing an overall budget for MoS of $520 million in today's dollars versus S25 maybe spending only $350 million.

Again, "adjusting for inflation" with box office dollars cannot be the only consideration.

When my 4K UHD arrives of this, I intend to watch it first with Gunn's commentary. When I watch it again without it, I'm most looking forward to seeing the Justice Gang again. Truly a highlight of the film. I'm curious to see if the Kent's scene hits a bit harder this time, as that was one of the scenes the first go around that kind of left me wanting more.
