I rarely buy from Newegg, but if I were out of Vudu GCs then I would consider them. You definitely have to be fast, though, due to their low inventory. I don't like having to add so many smaller $25 eGCs when you can only have 3 at a time. Newegg's reputation fell off a cliff when they were bought by a Chinese company long ago. There are too many stories of poorly packed hard drives arriving DOA. Non-breakable items are the only stuff I'd buy from them.
I usually wait for GC deals from Target, Best Buy, or Vudu to buy larger amounts. One thing I'm curious about is how much $$$ in reserve do people feel comfortable having in GCs for Apple and Vudu? 20% off sales are frequent enough on Vudu I don't think you need a huge reserve, maybe $300, but Apple is usually only 10-15% except on Cyber Monday, so it becomes tempting to buy a large amount when there are 20% or 15% off deals. Then I have the worry about unused GCs sitting around for months or years possibly getting used/stolen without my knowledge. It hasn't happened to me yet, but it's a worry. What did Alfred P. Neuman say, "Me worry?" |

I never buy from NewEgg. No PayPal option for gift cards, and I haven't used them for anything else in years, so it's not worth the hassle for me. Kroger and even FAH themselves run deals often enough that I can easily bypass NE.

The fact that it's exactly 50 sounds like something to do with a bundle. |

This would be a good reason to use the Vudu Catalog tool to run reports of what’s in your collection for time like this. With that said, I remember reading a few weeks ago that FAH had been consolidating titles that were duplicates due to bundle purchases entry and had a separate entry in their library. So, while the count was down, the true total of totals didn’t change.

I've seen people refer to its existence, but I don't know what it is. Knowing people might say "Google is your friend" (actually they aren't because they harvest your data), I just looked it up to see it's a Google Chrome extension. Does anyone know enough about this extension to know if it can intercept your password and send it to other people on the Internet, or is this extension totally trustable with access to our precious digital library? I use Firefox precisely because I trust Google the least with my data. Microsoft Edge is better than Google but worse than Firefox and Opera in terms of spying on your data. Microsoft spies on almost everything you do in Windows with "meta" data so they know what software you're running when. AFAIK, you can't turn that off easily without disconnecting your Internet. There are similar tools for game libraries too (Steam, PSN, XBL) but I've never trusted those tools with my passwords so I don't have complete "reports" of what I've bought. I only have my notes I wrote at the time of purchase which is basically a long chronological list that belongs in a spreadsheet. PSN and XBL websites have order histories which are very slow and difficult to view or save. Last edited by AllieFox; 08-14-2025 at 02:55 AM. |

When you're on the My Movies or My TV Shows page, you click on it and it generates a downloadable csv file with all of your movies/TV shows. The created file includes basic info about the title, the format you own (SD, HDX or UHD) the date you purchased it and if it was an MA import It also works on Movies Anywhere and Google Play. |

As someone who virtually only shops for groceries/gas at Kroger, I appreciate when these pop up.
