I doubt it’s the only one we’ll get in December. I’d call it more of an early reveal - we haven’t even had the official November announcements yet.

Given all the cancellations by Arrow, HMV etc, this photo from Orbit DVD feels like a bit of a kick in the balls...

Texas Chainsaw Massacre now shipped direct from Arrow USA (via DHL Economy)! Nothing from Arrow UK yet for The Beginning.

Surely they should be less scared to tell Amazon and HMV sorry we dont have any compared to telling customers to their own site who ordered as soon as it went up, we cancelled you. Plus they must get a load more profit from a direct sale. I cant understand them. They must be very risk adverse. Did they print way too much of a Limited years ago or something. |

It's a tricky thing, gauging the market & trying to guess how many copies of anything will sell. Some of Arrow's Limited Editions hung around for years (their first go at Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 comes to mind), & some vanish in weeks/months.
Given the number of recent rapid sell-outs, I've got to assume the print run for them is quite low these days. They'd rather have a sell-out than a warehouse full of stuff they'll have to discount to shift. Can't really blame them for that, but it's annoying to miss out. It'd be good if they could adopt the same model as the soundtrack labels such as LaLaLand or Intrada sometimes use for their limited CDs: Drop the first batch, let that sell out, then get another batch printed a few months down the line. As someone mentioned above though, I guess a lot of it comes down to licensing. ![]() |

There is a cut off date for stores to pre-order new releases. TGTBATU was obviously going to sell out quickly, but since it got delayed a month, and the etailers kept taking pre-orders, it should have been obvious that places were going to end up cancelling orders because they couldn't fulfill them. ('though it is insane to me that Arrow never shut down the pre-orders on their site.)
