Well since FCE is going for something as obscure as that then Gas might make a lot of sense for them to do. I think Gas 1981 fits right in with their release slate. Same with That Was Then This is Now, and the Gambler.

Have not seen Goodbye, Columbus before but the trailer does look interesting. Will be cool to see in the Fun City catalog

When it first came out, some people descried it as "the Jewish version of The Graduate." Actually, I preferred Goodbye, Columbus to The Graduate, although both were good films.

That’s the impression I got from reading the book (P. Roth forever!), but I’ve never seen the film. Will be tempted by this BD.

If you've ever been fortunate to pitch woo to someone clearly out of your league, and have it recoprocated, however briefly, you should find the film relatable.

A little like Baby, It's You, GC wasn't a film I was actively pining for. But now that it's getting a release, it's going to one of the most looked forwarded to of the rest of the year for me. Especially since this will be a Bd premiere.

FCE sure does make the most of a very limited release slate.

It looks like all the movies Fun City Editions licensed from FilmRise are going out of print:

Quote:
In case you've been on the fence, we have less than 100 copies of MORVERN CALLAR left in our shop. Our edition is now permanently out-of-print.

We have less than 50 copies remaining of our PARTY GIRL Blu-ray. Like, MORVERN CALLAR this disc is now out-of-print.

New editions coming from Shout who recently merged with FilmRise?

GAS would be an interesting release, to be sure.

If Fun City fancied releasing the 1963 Paramount film WIVES AND LOVERS, which has never been released to any homevideo format before, I'd be glad to buy a couple of 'em.

Definitely not heard of film Spike of Bensonhurst until seeing the post on FCE's Facebook page, followed by the previous two posts in this thread. Have watched the trailer. Going by the year the film is credited with, it was before Sasha Mitchell joined Dallas and Talisa Soto appeared in Licence to Kill.

Fun City Editions / Altered Innocence sale at Diabolik DVD from August 25th to September 1st:

Quote:
Here are some things you should note….
  1. If a sale title you want is out of stock you can feel safe in knowing that we will be ordering everything we need from the warehouse consistently during the sale
  2. The sale is during this period only and not good for past purchases (BUT if you just ordered or your order is in preorder or you just ordered an included title, drop us an email and we will work it out)
  3. All orders will ship in full when all items are in stock, so if you order a preorder title along with your sale items, you will receive everything when the final title in your order is released. If you prefer not to wait, you should place multiple orders as we are unable to make shipping exceptions during the sale
  4. We cannot combine or add sale titles to older orders
  5. Please allow at least a week for your order to be processed during the sale. The extra volume clogs things up a bit and we would rather not skimp on the time we spend making sure the orders are packed well. We won’t be able to answer any “ORDER STATUS” emails during the sale.
  6. These titles aren’t 40 or 50% off, what gives? Sale prices are given to us based on the SRP of the title. 40 or 50% off our normal price would be amazing, but sadly, that is not what we are able to offer. We are grateful to be able to offer these sale prices to you so please enjoy !
  7. Titles and Pricing Are Set by the Label
  8. All of the Sale Titles are Available here
  9. See Number 1

Bastards. Basically things they JUST shipped to me that I pre-ordered full price are now immediately on sale.

Ok, maybe I had another thing in that order that held it back so long, but still that's TOO SOON.

Vinegar Syndrome used to do this where products released the month before were on sale the following month during the sale. That's when they heard feedback and created the six month plus grace period (looks to be 9 in some cases for Severin now).

Let's see if FCE gets the similar type of feedback.

I watched the Shirley MacClaine movie 'Desperate Characters' the other night. Would make an excellent FCE.
