I ordered the trilogy set, but if the first film gets a solo steelbook release with OG art in the future.....i might sell the box set and go that route.

I always look at the films this way...

Film 1 - Based on the comic book
Film 2 - Based on the cartoon
Film 3 - Based on Toys R Us shelf space

I wonder if they will have an alternate movie on the disc that is enjoyable to watch. There's no mention of it anywhere on the box, but when you push play, "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" starts playing. Ha ha ha.

Well, Arrow, Shout!, Kino, Criterion, and VS, to name a few are most likely to blame for the high rate of crime these days. Absent fathers my glorious tuchus.

Reverse films 2 & 3 and I would agree; III is definitely the most like the cartoon.

I dig it, but I always thought of it more this way:

Movie 1 - The first season of the cartoon. Better animation, funnier, slightly more violent.

Movie 2 - The second season of the cartoon. Doesn't look quite as good, lost any semblance of an edge it once had, but still a little fun, certainly not hateful.

Movie 3 - The rest of the crappy cartoon.

... wish they included that making-of part 2, that I grabbed on VHS from a display box at the counter of a Kay-Bee toys. Had a making-of Elm St.4 VHS that ran about 40 minutes that broke down some major effects sequences ....

As a 10 year old, Vanilla Ice in the sequel was one of the things that had me psyched to see it. I remember being disappointed when he wasn't a main character throughout the movie, because I'm pretty sure that's how he'd described it in some magazine articles I'd read at the grocery store.

I wonder if he was exaggerating, or if they did actually shoot a bunch of scenes with him that someone had the good sense to cut.

NO VANILLA ICE REDUX CUT, NO SALE. Word to ya mother.

But when I'm watching Robocop (and even Robocop 2, which I maintain is 70-80% of the way to being a great movie), I can't help but think how the story of this great cynical, satirical, nasty world gets resolved in such an artless, bloodless, boring way.
I'm with you on Robocop 2. It's almost there, but too much is holding it back.

I would say:

the TERRIBLE effect shots on the villain's suit just kill me every time I watch the film. They are so awful, and I wish somebody would erase them and just do some decent CGI over them. Alien 3 bothers me a little bit more because there is a better film in that one somewhere, but damn if these two films don't have some of the crappiest CGI/compositing put to film for a couple decent action flicks.

There also should have been more with his family. They hint at it, and then just throw her out, and the film severely lacks because of it. There didn't need to be 30m more of scenes with her, but there needed to be something more. It's absolutely so out of character for him after the first one, and that is why I will never own 2. I just don't really care for it despite seeing it in theaters even on release as a kid. It does have a lot of good scenes though.

And people here are whining about others saying 2 is not as good as the first one lmao. 2 is not very good at all folks. Deal with it. Nostalgia is some kind of a drug I think. Even as a kid I don't think I liked 2 more than 1 at all. I did enjoy it though. But that's a bit harder to do these days.

They don't. The two there get the right amount for being absolutely obnoxiously terrible. P3 is just another horror sequel so whatever.

$19.99 Turtles set when?
I'm not gonna lie. 100 for this is definitely absurd. Two of the films, which are not good in any way really, are not from the negative, and the first one is there. Literally, I would pay 25 for the first one with a slip. That's it. That's basically 75 dollars and tax for two films I will never watch. I would say absurd. Some will enjoy the set. It's expensive though.

I just think some people have a difficult time grappling with the reality that, at one point in their lives, they actually liked something so awful. "How could I have liked (FILL IN THE BLANK)? It can't possibly be as bad as everyone is saying it is." LoL. Yeah, actually it is that bad. It's ok though. We were kids, and kids like some God-awful stuff. Perfectly normal. But we grow older, and realize now that it was trash.

I grew up watching Transformers: The Movie...a lot. The animation is quite a bit better than the TV show, but is it a good movie? Not even close! Ha ha ha!
