As I have previously posted, the Japanese Premium Edition is the best quality version of T2.
Anyone who disagrees has either NOT seen it or just thinks it's too expensive. I have seen all 3 versions being discussed and couldn't care less if the Skynet or U.K. versions were $1.00 each. If you are a genuine fan of T2 and/or Blu ray and have something better than a HTIB you owe it to yourself to buy the BEST QUALITY VERSION AVAILABLE...............THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!!!! If you want MORE proof http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/dvdcompare/term2.htm Stop being so TIGHT!!!!!!!!! Geez Last edited by linger63; 09-20-2009 at 09:37 AM. |

I kind of understand your stance. For most movies,... I would also seek out the highest quality possible. This movie though is just fun. So,... The $10 version works for me. If it was a movie like Jaws or Empire Strikes Back or something then yeah,... I would want to know where to buy the best one. I guess I'm not much of a Terminator fan. I can enjoy the movies but I'm not going to import it because $10 sounds about right for me. =Brian |

I'd wager that most who would ask "which version should I get" rather than investigating themselves probably don't even have sound systems. And where's the purist's favor for the original theatrical presentation? Does the Japanese version have the original mono track in lossless? Does any version? Maybe we should all save our cash until a truly right version comes out? Actually, this is kind of what I've done, except I've opted for a cheap-o American version for the meantime until it happens rather than abstaining from purchase completely. Quote:
Personally, my definition of a "real fan" is one who would want the company who produced the film to profit from the purchase. I'd wager that the producers of the film make more money on a 15 dollar sale in USA than a 15 dollar sale of a British import or a 35~55 dollar sale of a Japanese import. And yeah, bro, I'll admit it. If you'll spend 55 dollars on this movie, a copy that will be obsoleted in the future, you are a MUCH bigger Terminator 2 fan than I. I don't think I could justify spending over 20 bucks on this thing, no matter how much better than my current edition it is. I was going to point out that the comparison is between the Japanese BD, the UK BD, and 2 different DVDs, but your observation works as well. |

I have the JP steel box and the US Skynet Edition. I watched the Skynet Edition last night....everyone looks like they are made of wax. They really smoothed over everything. So smooth that it loses some of the detail that the JP version has.

I say neither. The Interface is T2: Skynet edition is the most slowest and ridiculous piece of Blu-ray software I have ever seen in my life. In-fact, I want mine OUT of my collection. PM me if you want to trade something for it.
I've been willing to time to see how long it takes after I insert the Blu-ray disc into my PS3 to when the movie actually starts. I think it's roughly around 2-3 minutes. It's pretty bad. It's a piece of trash, plain and simple. Besides, the transfer does not do this movie justice. Who cares if it's "The best version out in the US", it's still trash. At-least my US version of American Psycho acts like a Blu-ray movie. It's a crappy transfer, but I put it in, and it loads up in 5-6 seconds. This on the other-hand is a disgrace. |
