Yick that was dumb of them. Reminds me of why I never recommend the Pixel Remasters for Final Fantasy.

In an interview with JPGames.de, Yasumi Matsuno – the original script writer, scenario writer and editor for the game – was asked about recent trailers for the remaster, which promise “story adjustments” and “additional dialogue”.

Matsuno was asked if this meant elements of the script had been changed due to changes in modern sensibilities in the 28 years since the release of the original.

“Not particularly, no,” he replied, explaining that the script had mainly been updated to account for the addition of voice acting to the game.

It's been nearly 30 years since I played through on PS1, unless there are some obviously modern changes to the dialog I doubt I'll even notice.

it will be a new translation for you anyway, as I'm sure they're updating the psp's version which had different style from the ps1 translation

Is it just me or is there a smoothing filter applied? I watched this on mobile so maybe it is the crappy android screen, but if it's a filter I hope I can turn it off.

haven't watched the trailer yet, but that youtube thumbnail does look like it was smeared with vaseline
