I think Will Ferrell has the potential to do some good stuff, but he just chooses to do dumb comedies in which you are required to turn your brain off to enjoy them. That is how he makes money so if that's what he wants, that is what he'll get.

Maybe he should start doing smart comedies? If they exist?

yea, I definitely think there are comedies out there in which you actually have to think about the content in order to get the joke. I don't think you see them a lot anymore, but they are out there.

Stranger Than Fiction was a smart comedy starring Will Ferrell.

Although I share the OP's dislike of Step Brothers (there are a few choice scenes but it was mostly a steaming pile of crap), I don't share his sentiments regarding those who enjoyed that movie.

You see, I didn't like Stranger Than Fiction, maybe because its smarter than me. I think I might have a bit of an immature sense of humor but there's nothin wrong with that if it makes me laugh unintentionally.

Most Jim Carrey movies except "Bruce Almighty"

Most Adam Sandler movies except "Chuck & Larry" , and "Lil Nicky".

Van Wilder

Harold and Kumar

Caddy Shack

Animal House

Back to the Future Trilogy

Smokey & The Bandit

The Longest Yard (original and remake)

Trading Places.....

There's more, but I don't want to list them.

WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!

I'd rather watch Little Nicky over the remake for Longest Yard, any day.

Step Brothers, Old School and Anchorman are some of my favorite comedy films... sounds like you feel about Will Farrell like I feel about Dane Cook.

One of my favorite scenes from Step Brothers "I can't believe I've never asked you this but do you like guacamole?" as he jumps on the "bunk bed" hahaha

Fixed the list for you

As for Step Brothers I prefer that over Blades of Glory anyday and also reason why Step Brothers is stupid is because it wasn't trying to be smart.

Jim Carrey = Unfunny
Animal House = See it way too many times over the years is Unfunny now
The Longest Yard (Remake) = Was stupid and retarted! Anyone who thinks thats funny is retarded.
Trading Places = Have seen it way way too many times over the years is no longer funny.
Caddyshack = Seen it way too many times over the years it is no longer funny.
Adam Sandler = Unfunny

thats not how I really feel about all these films though...except for the Longest Yard remake..
you see my point here? Nobody cares what I think and nobody cares if you didnt like Step Brothers. Why do you feel the need to come on the stage just to let everyone know and especially with so much hatred?

"Step Brothers" was IMO not a funny movie.
It was one of those movies I just donīt get the comedy in.
Such as "Observe and report", "Talladega Nights", "Pineapple Express", "Disaster movie" and (I know Iīm gonna get sh*t for this) all Peter Sellers movies.

Just to list some of my favorite comedys:
Ace Ventura (both)
Ghostbusters
Old School
Blues Brothers
The Hangover
40 Year Old Virgin
A Night At The Roxbury
Top Secret
In Bruges

I usally find Will Ferrell funny

Step Brothers was funny but not hilarious. Hilarious is Dumb & Dumber or 40 Year Old Virgin.

You don't like step brothers, but you liked the longest yard and Adam Sandler movies?? Seriously something wrong with you.

I guess you just don't get the comedy... maybe you're just too old to get the jokes. Smokey & The Bandit?? What is that from, the 70s?

How could you not understand going in that it was a "stupid comedy" did you not see any previews or anything??

+7 to Step brothers being awesome and + 1 to the OP being the only "ultra-idiot" here!

Mine are Airplane!, Scary Movie, Bad Santa, Naked Gun, Anchorman, and Tropic Thunder. I honestly thought Step Brothers was crappy, but it did have some decent chuckle-esque moments.
