Still haven’t seen my replacement discs at the mailbox. Time to follow up. It seemed it was only the first 2 that had issues.

The grain structure in specifically the director's cut scenes looks far more fine than the rest of the runtime. I highly doubt Randy will see this post, but I think the reason why this is is because the extra scenes specifically were freshly scanned so they could be natively edited into the movie. They decided to not do a full on rebuild for a consistent presentation, which honestly comes down to downright lazy. The extra scenes themselves look miles better than the theatrical footage and it's really a shame that the final entry in this franchise was treated this way.
Agreed. I just watched recently and it as very disappointed in the look of the film and the fact that the deleted scenes reinserted stick out like sore thumbs. I think the old Blu-ray looks better.

I'm planning on remuxing my Rocky 1-3 mkvs with the latest audio updates but I'm hesitant on buying the new set atm. Does anyone here have the audio files?

Seeing as the United States version of the six-film Knockout collection doesn't come with Blu-ray copies of the films and since I like to get 4K+BD combo packs, does anyone know if the Australia or Spain versions of this collection have BD copies that are region-free / region-A-compatible?

I own the Australian release and it’s UHD-only.

Hello,

I learned quite recently that Warner issued a replacement program for the Rocky UHDs.

I have the UK version (4K UHD+Blu-ray) of the original movie only.

Can I still apply for the replacement and can you guys let me know how?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Do you have any issues with your disc? Are you missing the mono? A quick search of this thread would have revealed you should email whv@wbd.com. It will take a while for response and any action. Reply with the info they ask for. Be patient.

I see you're in France and have the UK disc, so the whv@wbd.com email address may not be applicable, as I think that's more for folks in the US.

Instead, myself and others from the UK have had results with the following:

1) Send an email to wbcustomerservices@vantiva.com saying that you are aware of errors on the first four Rocky 4Ks and the replacement programme for them.

2) Include a copy of your proof of purchase and the name and address you would like any replacements sent to.

3) Sit back and wait.

You may get a corrected, new and sealed boxset of all four films as a replacement instead of individual titles. I sent them a copy of my proof of purchase for Rocky III only, yet received a new boxset of all four films in replacement, and I know others did too.

I reckon sending out a new boxset instead of sorting individual releases is a lot easier for them, and I look on their generosity as their way of apologising for the buggeration. Great customer service.

Also, if you want to double-check whether you have an incorrect disc or not prior to sending an email, here's what you need to look for:

If your UK discs have "R0" in the numbers around the centre of the playing surface, they are the incorrect discs.

If your UK discs have "R1" in the numbers around the centre of the playing surface, they are the corrected discs.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the details! I have R0L1.
I don't have my proof of purchase anymore but I will give it a try.

Ok odd question but here goes: just how bad is Rocky V?

I’ve never seen it due to its rep, which is why I was ok initially buying the 4-movie set. Then just added Balboa when it came out.

But now I’m looking at the 6-movie set on Amazon IT and wondering (although I’ll make a significant loss selling my others, even if I get money for my uncorrected discs sold separately) if its worth it at €46.72. But given its 4K only I’d basically be 'upgrading' for exactly 1 disc

Or, y’know, if I should wait until 2026 for a 50th anniversary set!

It's no worse than Rambo III.

Nothing wrong with Rocky V IMO, I've always enjoyed it. It's not as 'good' as the rest of the series, and I would say for me it's the 'worst' out of the lot, but it's still always worth a watch. Set your expectations low and just enjoy it.

I've been holding out for a UK set which obviously isn't coming... I might have to grab the Italian set.

Always liked Rocky V and my recent rewatch didn't change my opinion either way.

The Italian set is well worth it BTW
