If u want a plasma look at the KUROS series from pioneer. if u want projection get the sxrd a3000 series. dont let them talk you into a deal for the a2020 series. Now as for which one.. u should decide no one else. If theres alot of direct sunlight in your room dont get projection. U may not even want plasma in that case due to high reflections. if its a basement theater room any would work but sxrd would be ur best for th money. Really u should think about the situation and how its gonna be use dand then decide for yourself. dont ever let a sales person decide for you |

hey thanks for that. no i would not let e salesman decide for me, but i like opinions and like to hear what people like and what 1080p tv is going to show off the quality of bd movies the best. i really had my sights on the panny 50" 700u plasma and its come down in price from $3500 to $2999 now and sometimes on sale for $2800 or so. but i dont think i can go down in size from a 60 inch to a 50 inch. my wife is not happy about reducing the size of the tv to a 50 inch, she like the 60 inch, but will go with whatever i want to get.
my hometheater is in a finished basement with really no natural light other than lamps, but i ususally turn them off during movies. i love my sony sxrd xbr1 now, but its not true 1080p, so i have a guy that wants to buy it from me, so i am hoping it works and i can buy a 1080p and get my blu ray palyer and be in with all you guys to enjoy the best format BLU RAY of coarse!!! |

at sears its 3699.99. if you use a sears card u get 10% off that. = 3329.99 and then you also get another 250$ off to make it 3079.99 the 50" is 2399.99 - 10 = 2159.99 - 250 = 1909.99 + tax |

any other thoughts from 1080p tv owners? would like to get as many opinions as i could before i pull the trigger on buying one. my heart says 50" or 58" panny plasma, but my wallet says 60" sony A3000.
any thoughts on the JVC 1080p models or samsung dlp models? i see alot of the forum members have sony's and panny's and samsungs mostly. any input would be great, thanks again |

My opinion, for what it's worth is this...
A TV is a personal choice, what looks good to you may not look good to me. The same can be said about Plasma vs LCD. I like both. There are advantages to both. I just bought two new LCD TV's (see my signature). I like LCD a little bit more then plasma for a TV under 50", plus if finance is a consideration , bang for the buck I think LCD is the way to go. Samsung is also coming out with two new sets available now that push the technology. The new models are the 71 Series, which does 25,000:1 contrast and the 81 Series which does 500,000:1 contrast. Both are dynamic contrast. http://www.samsung.com/ca/products/tv/lcd/index.asp Last edited by PBR; 09-22-2007 at 05:24 PM. |

Ya i have been kinda leaning towards the new sony sxrd A3000 model. alot of people have recommended it so far, and its within my budget to get. although the panny 58" is sooooo tempting to me.... |

Just by brands I like the most I'd say any 1080p Sharp Aquos or Sony Bravia.
