I've found it to be sometimes and sometimes not. We seem to get a mix of US and UK ports here. That's what I've often noticed anyway.

Just ordered 4Ks of Dust Devil, Lake Mungo, and Angel’s Egg (all with Fidelity in Motion encodes).

A wonderfully eclectic month.

Quest For Fire hasn't been available anywhere for ages and what previously existed is either very expensive or has manufacturing issues. And no 4K master exists so a normal Blu-ray at a normal price, woo!

The only example of an Aussie disc having BBFC-enforced AC cuts was Conan the Barbarian's UK disc being ported for release here, but we still got the version with the workaround and that same ISO was used for pretty much everywhere except North America. Australia has no animal cruelty regulations that have any effect on film classification.

I wonder if the tariff situation led them to hold off on titles like Dogma or Memento? But by Nov.-Dec shipments, this De Minimus issue into the US should be more clear, and I'll wait to pre-order anything until I know what to expect.

I'm sure others have noticed that Orbit/Atomic/etc were offering the high-end collector's edition of Freaked which normally does not happen. So that seems to be one way they're adjusting, letting US retailers import a few to make up for lost US individual sales.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is the UK disc, which was cut for horse falls.

Went to track my order from Umbrella and the Australia Post website has a header stating "Australia Post has temporarily suspended some postal services to the United States and Puerto Rico.". Yikes. My order landed on Sunday, so I guess I got lucky.

I scored Bambi the Reconkening collectors edition. Had to pay 22 $ for shipping but that's fine. Just wasn't enough want for me to buy anything else... My Black Sheep ultimate collection has departed by plane to America.

Is there any news on when Dogma or Bmx Bandits might be up for pre-order?

It was basically a Fox thing, they did it with a whole bunch of DVDs too (Commando, Predator, Braveheart etc) but at least they fixed all of those on BD. Butch Cassidy and Conan were bizarre cases of uno-reverse where the DVD was uncut and then we ended up with a cut BD The only example I can think of with any other distributor making such an error would be the remastered editions of Rambo III (the first version was uncut, including slipping it past the goalie in the UK).

One only need watch Wake in Fright to think that might be the case!

That was never cut by the BBFC though. Of course, who knows what went on behind the scenes. The same director went on to direct First Blood, which apparently had some sketchy treatment of rats going on when the camera wasn't rolling

I wonder in the case of Dogma specifically, if Lionsgate may have some first announcement sort of rights for the 4K release. Excited to see what both companies offer up, it’s one title I may very well buy both releases of.

Also really thought one or the Toxic Avenger releases Umbrella are doing would be this month, but okay with that not being the case. Beyond a solid enough transfer I was pretty disappointed in the extras on the Troma US release of those overall so hoping for a nice upgrade in that area.

Speaking of extras, this Lake Mungo release has to be one of Umbrella’s most stacked ever. It’s one I remember hearing about a few times, so was an easy order for me, but is like many of my Umbrella purchases a well educated blind buy. Picked up Dust Devil and finally ordered the ridiculous Black Sheep Collector’s Edition as well to qualify for free shipping… hoping everything nets out well for Australia in general shipping to the US.

Black Sheep is a blind buy but is one I almost got ages ago on DVD. I remember seeing the trailer and thinking it looked like a ton of fun, my dad on the other hand thought it was one of the dumbest looking things he’d ever seen. Since then though I’ve introduced him to many bad movies, and plenty of Australian films, got a feeling he’ll feel surprisingly nostalgic when I make him watch this and regret not seeing it all those years ago.

Black Sheep is a New Zealand film if you are unaware. I have the following release which is apparently better than the standalone single release at the time. Anyway, it's one of the better Antipodean Horror/Comedies in my opinion.

The Angel Heart 4K release we got here recently is the slightly cut UK version, with a 5 second cockfighting sequence chopped.

That makes a lot of sense. It IS a Lionsgate title that they are licensing out, right? So it stands to reason they would put their title on sale first, with their extras, etc.
