Do we know yet if they'll be the same video masters as the old UHDs?

People have talked about a technical error with one reel of the first film on the existing UHD, right?

The UK sets look really nice. The Steelbooks the US are getting should be the same shown in those sets.

Do you know if the slip boxes and everything will be UK exclusive though?

Yeah, it'll likely be exclusive to the UK. The US rarely gets tat editions like that. The US are getting one big trilogy gift set with different stuff. I posted a description of that set earlier in the thread:

Quote:
Limited-edition premium giftset in a one-time build. Universal will only manufacture 5,000 units worldwide. Giftset includes an exclusive mini-Gibson guitar (design only available in this giftset), SteelBook, booklet featuring behind the scenes information, certificate of authenticity, a full-size OUTOFTIME license plate, license plate stickers, and (13) paper prop replicas featured in the Back to the Future trilogy!

I'm struggling to think off the top of my head of any Universal CEs like this in the UK recently (I have the old Blu-Ray tin) - have there been any? Wondering if any of the U.S. smaller e-tailers (Atomic, Orbit, Diabolik) would carry it.

I have so many versions of this movie already but since I only paid $10 for the 4K set when it came out... I may splurge and add another set to the collection.

Orbit is selling it:
Crap - I forgot about that and I was wanting it... already got the U.S. steel and Orbit looks to be sold out anyway. I'll have to be on the lookout for Orbit to list the BTTF sets.

If that’s a rigid box then I’m so in for that!

I’m just concerned that it looks like one Steelbook for 8 discs… surely they can’t do stacked discs at that point, they HAVE to be doing a tray…

Also I know this is Universal and not Paramount, but every time Paramount’s done an Amazon exclusive in the US and a non exclusive version in the UK, the US version’s packaging has always been of a flimsier quality (Pulp Fiction, Clueless, ZAZ Collection). Would love for it to be a rigid slipcase too but I worry!

I just want Universal to give us a Back To The Future box set with the same quality as this Jurassic Park box set from 2018. One of the nicest sets on the 4K format.

Amazingly I don't own this on physical (and I'm quite mad at myself for it!). $45 for the standard set isn't bad, once that hits $30 I'll grab it.

Will these new 40th Anniversary special features be included in the new steelbooks or just on the Trilogy boxset?

Back to Hill Valley (16 minutes)
Untold Stories of Back to the Future (36 minutes)
A Mystery in History (9 minutes)
40 Years Later: Reflecting on The Future (24 minutes)
TCM Classic Film Festival Panel 2025 (15 minutes)

Does the boxset come with physical goodies or just the steelbooks?
