I've still not watched Bloody Oranges but I see it has a Blu-ray in France without subtitles.

Might just be busy with film festivals and theater exhibitions. Like they announced that they were working on Let the Corpses Tan in October... 2023.

They may have decided physical media just isn't economic for the titles they release hence focused on theatrical and streaming. Don't think any of their existing titles have set sales records and most were very slow sellers. They really are niche titles so unlikely to ever generate big physical media sales.

I can’t see streaming being that profitable either, I mean the people who watch these films are fanatics like us, and we like to own our films.

I was thinking the same, but it would be a shame. Excellent, unique curation, combined with Indicator-quality releases. They might be my dark horse favorite label.

I concur.

I can't overstate just how much I'm praying that they manage to release Let The Corpses Tan. I spoke to them via email in 2023 asking about whether they would be doing a double release with Strange Colour... . They said the rights for that were too complicated, but that they were "working on the disc now" for Corpses.

I think it's less that they are niche titles (which I suppose they are), but more an issue of brand exposure/name recognition for Anti-Worlds itself. I can think of other labels that could have released the same films and had no problems shifting them in greater number because of consumer brand loyalty. I suppose the issue is you can't just generate that out of thin air.

I was introduced to the label because I was explicitly interested in seeing a film (Holiday), so the label was immaterial. I was so impressed by that release that I began exploring the catalogue further and never looked back.

I wonder if they'd have done better shifting units if they were explicit about the number of copies produced ala Radiance. For all the negatives, creating a bit of FOMO has it's upsides, especially for a fledgling label.

They said recently they’re working on a Bertrand Mandico box.

I believe it’s the same-ish team producing, distributing and releasing discs, so their resources (people and money) are likely stretched thin.

Where did they say this? Looks like their Twitter account has gone (okay just signed into Facebook for the first time in a decade whist typing this out and I can see it there).

Guess I should really get round to watching the Altered Innocence release of Wild Boys to see if I'd be interested in the set.

I do hope they haven't shelved Corpses though...

That's dropped to €7.74 at Amazon https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B09R3DHRKM/

I watched this and liked it it certainly fitted in with the Anti-Worlds label hopefully they'll release it.

Orginal release news: https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=29697

They shouldn't have moved away from the original artwork:

They’re restarting their releases.

We're really excited to announce our brand new label - Anti-Worlds Originals.

Anti-Worlds Originals will be home for original films. We want to show case alternative, provocative and uncategorisable films that are increasingly lost in todays algorithm based programming.

Anti-Worlds Originals releases will be very limited, numbered digi-pak editions and will not be available to purchase on streaming platforms. It just doesn't make economic sense for us as a distributor or for the film makers. We want to support film makers and see more of these wonderful films.

Anti-Worlds Originals will have a slightly increased retail price to enable us to pay sensible royalties to the film makers and create beautiful physical objects. We hope you understand and can support us. It means a lot!
First title.

Mismantler is a feature film collaboration by film-maker Andrew Keogh (Bread & Circus) and legendary musician Stephen Stapleton (Nurse with Wound). A spellbinding psychedelic trip through a dystopian world with an incredible surround sound soundtrack. The release features a Blu-Ray of the film and a CD of the soundtrack and will be limited to 1000 numbered copies only packed in a beautiful 8 page digi-pak with exclusive artwork by Stephen Stapleton and Andrew Keogh. Pre-Orders will go live soon so please look out for that at the website.

Just got the email. Will 100% be supporting this first release.

I don't think blind brand loyalty is necessarily the best way to go with physical media (I mean you're never going to like everything a company puts out), but Anti-Worlds has been an incredibly good label for me over the last few years, releasing films I'd been tracking on the festival circuit but thought I'd never get to see, as well as introducing me to one particular filmmaker that I'm eternally grateful for.

Unfortunately the one upcoming release of theirs that I've been desperately waiting on (Let the Corpses Tan) remains in a seemingly permanent state of limbo. It's going on 3 years since I spoke to them about it and whilst they told me it was definitely coming I think I'll only believe it when I see it.

It may be in vain, but I'm hoping there's more chance of seeing it come to fruition if I support their other releases in the meantime. I guess time will tell...

Yes, I'll support them too I think I have virtually everything they've released. I like strange.

If you're desperate, Kino have Let Corpses Tan https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=313741 I've not seen it. I've seen it listed as Anti-Worlds for sometime now. Their name was on Carmoon's Hoard too and that Blu-ray popped up at Plumeria Pictures You could ask them.

I'll have to watch Let Corpses Tan.

I have all their narrative films, although there are a couple I'll probably cull eventually that were only so-so for me. There's been some absolute gems though. Relaxer/Buzzard being the main one with Joel Potrykus being the filmmaker I referenced in my post. Comedy is the ultimate subjective genre and I'm particularly hard to please, but my word do his films click with me for some bizarre reason!

I'm aware of the Kino release for Corpses but I've made a point of sticking to region B compatibility in order to cap my spending and keep my collection manageable!

The reason I'm desperate is because I loved the previous work of the directors. Amer and especially The Strange Colour of Your Bodies Tears, if you've not seen those either. I've not actually watched the trailer for Corpses as those two films are enough to sell me on anything they ever go on to make.

Watched Patrick yesterday and really liked it. I wish I could find films like this every day.

Great cast and story and beautifully done. Disc is B. I wasn't going to watch Tim Mielants's Small Things Like These but I will now.

I see it's sold out at Anti-Worlds.

I’m glad they’re coming back. But I dunno if I could justify spending any amount of money on that.

Hopefully it finds it’s audience though.
