Well, however many of the fancy sets were actually made, it has finally sold out on the Viavision site. Still available from sellers on Ebay (some of the prices are reasonable and in line with what Imprint was charging, some are greatly inflated)---it may be a while until it finally becomes difficult to obtain.

Anyone in the U.S. who was on the fence has about 16 days before the de minimis tariff exception is lifted and all of a sudden it's gunna be WAY more expensive...

Really coping hard and hoping since Arrow is such buddy friends with Warner that we get them releasing The Neverending Story in 4K. I feel like they'd release the same content as the Imprint but with less tat and less price..

REALLY manifesting this wish hard.

I mean...... you had like a year to buy this. If you really really wanted it. You could have manifested it via shipping. The book is very cool.

I want the discs in a standard-size case without all of the extra crap. I was never going to pay more for this massively-oversized and overpriced release. I love the movie but I'm sick of this trend.

If that never happens, I'm fine with the German UHD and US Blu-ray.

Not impressed. I’d hardly call it a book, it’s more like a prop.
I was expecting an actual book with the full story and proper page, but they couldn’t even get that right.

A Replica they claimed, last time I seen the film I remember it had pages in them with an entire story, they forgot that part apparently.
And then decide to milk the fans by selling the steelbook seperately later on

smh. it was never going to be an ACTUAL book. If you want the book, buy the book. I have the version with the color text. It's a book prop, as you would expect. It's for display. And all the other movie photos and such.

And it's not oversized. It's the size it was in the film.

I did cough up for this one as it's such a cool piece, but the actual quality was quite disappointing, with the four corner pieces on the front a little misaligned, and I don't know why Imprint has such an obsession with AI upscaling the extras on their releases but it's terrible. Overall though, the press release stuff and the prints and the overall look of the set, along with both cuts in 4K AND the outstanding Life After... documentary included, I'm still happy with it.

I didn't say anything about it being oversized wtf, give me the damn book with the actual pages.
For that amount they should have added them

how would the book have the actual pages? Where would the items go? It's a hollowed out box for a reason. smh.

Yeah no, nobody said anything about the book being oversized, no clue why you brought that up, so random.
The extras could’ve just gone in a hollowed section at the back, still making it an actual book.
But that’s effort, and clearly they weren’t interested in giving people a proper 'replica'

that would never work, and it was always going to be the size of the book from the movie, WHICH IS OVERSIZED. I don't know why you keep saying you didn't mean it should be oversized. That's the movie.

That’s literally the replica I want, the actual book with pages, plus a deep back cover hollowed out for all the extras.
Not rocket science, just a bit more effort… which they clearly didn’t bother with.

Don't forget the 4Kult edition of Neverending Story coming in a couple of weeks that's considerably cheaper at around 25 euros. Available from Amazon italy. No idea of the source etc other than 'Eagle Pictures'. Anyone got more info?

It will be very interesting if the 4Kult version fixes the missing fades to black.
That would open the way to the US or UK distributor to do the same.
Might not have the FiM encode though, but in this instance that is more important than perfect encode.

Edit: Fade not missing on the international cut

Looks like the German extended cut will be standard Blu-ray only. How important is the German extended cut? I believe I have only ever seen the United States theatrical cut.
