That's good news. Do you think it will be the only movie that earns $1 billion this year?

It would be very weird if Avatar 3 didn't make at least $1 b!

Ne Zha 2 already made just over 2 billion. It even made over 20 million here in the US which is pretty exceptional for a Chinese animated film.

I expect Avatar: Fire and Ash will either just beat it or come extremely close. Way of Water did 2.3 billion.

And Zootopia 2 will easily make a billion as well.

Hopefully a mid or late August release for Disney+ then?

Thanks for spoiling the latest Mission Impossible in the Lilo & Stitch thread.

Enjoyed this. Not quite as funny as the animated version & could have used a bit more Elvis, but still very entertaining & unlikely to offend anyone, even fans of the original.

Anyone else not recognize Zach Galifianakis at all? I was quite surprised when his name popped up in the end credits.

My pet peeve with this movie is the branding.
I'm okay with Disney putting the name of the studio above the title in their promotional material (and in Marvel's and Pixar's posters and ads also). But to put it in the opening credits is just weird, we've just seen the animated castle logo with the studio name. Is the name of the movie "Lilo & Stitch" or "Disney Lilo & Stitch"? By the way, shouldn't it be "Disney's Lilo & Stitch" - you know, with the 's?
I'm sorry, English is not my native language.
Maybe it would make sense in a movie like "Snow White", since that movie is Disney's version of Snow White. But "Lilo & Stitch" was never made by any other studio.

Because they are doing a Marvel and putting their brands on the films themselves. They did the same with the 20th Century Studios stuff as well.

To be fair, I did put it under spoilers. You were warned.

I don't know about Zootopia 2. Problem is Wicked: For Good comes out a week before.
If it has a similar effect that Superman Legacy had to Fantastic Four, it might underpreform.
International might help, but nothing is ever a predicted hit anymore.
Moana was bigger than Zootopia, but Wicked is stronger with it being a direct part 2 to a film that came out last year and is more in direct memory of most of the people that saw it.
Doesn't help Avatar comes out a month later meaning Disney is going to give its own screens up for it.
I could be wrong, but the word of mouth needs to be strong for people to show up considering how expensive moviegoing is now and most families can only choose one.

Thanks for sharing! I was hoping it'd be on Disney+ by now, but I can wait 1 more month I guess.

Maybe I'll re-watch the animated movies and finally stream the entire animated series.

Finally went to see at the cinema with my wife and daughter. We all loved it. I liked the many changes a lot, especially the ending was way better imo. This remake hit me right in the feels - way more than the original ever did. I love both movies.
