Those three always have rights issues which I assume are down to Miramax. It's rare to get a set that includes all eight pre-Zombie movies, hence why I went out of my way to grab this (despite the horrendous artwork):

It's a common issue here in the UK, which is why - outside of one rare boxset - you have to buy the DVD collections in split boxsets, like so:

While Shout/Scream Factory were able to get them all together for their mighty Blu-ray boxset, it even caused issues with their matching 1-8 4K releases, with the Miramax three being bundled together in a boxset:

Does Miramax (or Paramount now, I suppose) even have Curse in Australia? I couldn't find any Blu-Ray releases there, and - based off this site's database - the only DVD release was via Universal/Sony in 2021.

Via Vision also has the Rob Zombie films, but I guess they don’t have 4K masters. I wonder why they don’t have 6-8. They have a deal with Paramount.
Same here (out of my price range. When I saw the announcement on the Imprint Films Facebook page, I just knew the price would be a few hundred Australian dollars). I had a feeling the list of extras/bonus features would be the same or nearly the same as in Shout's Collector's Edition combo packs of the first five Halloween films. The pumpkin design I'm impressed by.

Imprint have now corrected their product information for the Department S blu-ray - it now says 16mm for Jason King.

I’m interested in the Halloween set and just got a nice bump in my pay check but this is still a lot of money. I didn’t see anything about a booklet or anything with the release. They usually do something like that with this kind of release and it may have swayed me a little bit.would not be a determining factor but a nice bonus.

There is a booklet corresponding to each film in this set inside their respective steelbooks.

Did nobody notice they announced a 4K of Jade, or is Bluesky feeding me old news?

Nobody on this board noticed it, but it’s been reported on this site’s news column. I’m eager to find out what the others are.

Missed the Kino, didn't want to pay eBay prices...and this is likely to cost even more than that.

Yes, I just received The Alfred Hitchcock Hour - Season One here in the US. The description on their store website says that these are from New 2K Scans. But they apparently did no other restoration work. If it weren’t for the fact that these are 1080p HD discs, these otherwise look like the old DVD’s: Plenty of scratches, lines, dirt and other print damage.

Each disc begins with a disclaimer regarding these imperfections. And while the episodes are fun to watch, at $99.99 USD, I’m strongly considering not getting Seasons Two and Three (if they ever are released) and just stick with the DVD or hope another boutique label in another country does better.

Is the uptick in resolution from 480p to 1080p really not worth it just because of some print damage?

Not at $99.99. It’s not just some print damage, it’s a lot, too much. They did a much, much better job with The Outer Limits release several years ago, which is why I did not hesitate to get this.

That’s a bummer. I’m sure I’ll like it, though, as long as it’s not as bad as the damage on Scream Factory’s BD of The Spell (1977, Lee Grant). That one had severe damage in every frame basically—it was miles worse than the previous SD releases/streaming. For me, Hitch’ll be worth it because I can’t stand watching the old 480p streams of this series, on my TV at least. The limitations of the format were too much. Hopefully my copy arrives soon, from whomever I ordered it…

G.I. Jane 4K Does not look like one that I’m interested in. Thought the movie was good and always a fan of Ridley Scott but not thinking this is one of those movies you devote this kind of packaging for. Just my opinion.

Australia Post has temporarily suspended some postal services to the United States and Puerto Rico.
Even if a parcel was posted to the States before the suspension, I'd think they'll still be a very lengthy hold-up: many (many!) millions of small parcels that would have gone straight through, now have to be examined & a charge worked out. I understand that Blu-rays ect. are exempt, but they're still going to get caught up in all this.

I have no idea where this “Blu-rays are exempt” thing comes from.
