It has some grain but more detail. The US Skynet edition isn't horrible but it looks too clean. Too shiny. Faces look like wax. The sound in both are comparable. I had the JP Steelbook since December and wasn't going to bother with the US version but I picked it up for 15$. Wanted to see the extras.
