So I got it (and KFP2) today, but the USPS tracking insisted it wouldn't be delivered until Monday lol

What's everyone's stance on this? Big budget monster movie fun? Or lame sequel? I actually think its a fun darker sci-fi horror ride, they might as well let Jurassic World go as absurd as possible now. Im not lying, I wouldn't mind one taking place on a spaceship in the future now, would be fun. Or even make a sequel that takes place completely in the underground labs, filled with mutants and dinosaurs.

It is better than the last 2 JW movies...and that is a good thing.

I must have been in a very cynical mood when I watched this; the daughter and boyfriend were obnoxious beyond belief, and most of the 'danger' set pieces were too obviously contrived and/or poorly directed

[Show spoiler](the youngest daughter completely missing the dino coming out of the ceiling in the convenience store comes to mind)

. I enjoyed World Dominion much better but I'll give it some time and watch it again. Scarlet looked pretty good, tho.

Honestly the whole addition of the boating family was unnecessary. They didn't really add anything and were pretty one-dimensional. I just kept wishing they'd go away so we could get back to Jonathan Bailey and Scarlett Johansson.

Apart from the family ruining the flow, the movie itself was decent enough. I liked that there was more of a mission and not just something happens and now they have to escape from danger. The one thing I found most distracting was how the franchise insists that all the English actors use American accents. Katie McGrath in Jurassic World, Rafe Spall in Fallen Kingdom, Jonathan Bailey AND Rupert Friend in this. It's one thing if like the character grew up on a farm in Kansas or something and it's a character trait but these are all people in international jobs, it's just a bit weird that they HAD to be American.

I just re-watched it and I didn't like anyone in the movie either time except the Dino doc and the father-Didn't believe scarlett as a mercenary for a second and everyone else was just as unlikable.

All the mercenaries just seem unlikable(especially when they are all into their scheme about getting more money out of the evil rich guy, the dopey boyfriend and the daughter are just bad, even the little girl who ends up taking the dinosaur annoyed me when I watched it this time. I feel bad for the father and the dino doc just seemed trapped. I was rooting for the dinos to eat more people-but not to be. I liked the couple of Jaws references in the movie.

I just flat out don't agree. The likable characters are the ones who made it at the end. The rest were Dino fodder which is par for the course in the Jurassic series.
