You just gotta love articles written by folks who probably have a ton of letters after their names, and consider themselves "professional intellectuals" or other such nonsense. Hardly anyone these days is willing to be honest, and just say "they started doing it more because people allowed them to." When the morals of any society become more permissive, the worst offenders are often the first to take advantage.

Couple observations upon watching Halloween yet again — my second time in just the past two weeks. ’Tis the season, after all. 1. Laurie Strode is terrible at jack-o-lanterns, lol; and 2. Michael must’ve been so surprised when Linda and Bob wandered into that Wallace house. Can't tell if he was annoyed or if it "totally" made his night.

Such a great flick. Top Five for me.

The increased resolution ever since Blu-ray cracks me up in scenes like Loomis at the hardware store, missing Michael driving the station wagon right behind him. Love how you can see Michael carefully looking both ways before pulling the car out across the intersection.

I bought and returned this film (Shout version) 3 times from Amazon (personal record).

All copies had jumped off the spindle in transit and were scratched.

You would think after 40+ years of digital physical media, companies would exclusively use cases with spindles where the disc won't come off.

I trust people with common sense a lot more than degrees, every day. As for crime rates being lower, my question would be "according to whom?". Fluctuations happen all the time, but I think we had a lot less crime on the streets when corrupt cops, lawyers, and judges didn't heavily influence the legal system. Movies aren't made about that kind of thing from imagination alone; it's a very real and far too regular occurence.

Not that I’m recommending it, but the Walmart glow slipcover edition is two-disc, so it likely wouldn’t have this problem.
