Have seen each version about 20 times, one of my all timers.

Physical is better. It's not just about ownership, it's about higher visual quality for me. Audio quality I don't think is as big of a deal as I've never been able to tell Dolby Digital apart from lossless.

I'm going back through and cleaning out a lot of stuff right now. I had close to 2,000 discs and in the past few months I have gone through and determined what I rewatch and what I don't. I think I rewatch maybe 25% of my entire collection. If it's something that I am not going to rewatch beyond a handful of times, I am fine with renting it digitally somewhere.

I would say buy used and definitely curate. It's easy to hoard.

I choose to hoard movies. I have so much more than enough room I don't see a problem with it.

When I watch a movie that I feel has no rewatch value I put it in a sell pile. The pile was pretty large so I went through and checked the resale value. I ended up donating about 240 movies to the local goodwill.

I did donate a box of Blu Rays that I had upgraded to UHD BD to my local library and my thrift store does still accept movies.

I read Netflix are now interested in acquiring Warner. If that happens, disc is as good as over guys. Netflix have very little interest in theatrical and they don’t want people to watch discs over their content.
With Amazon and possibly Netflix, that would leave very few studios who release blockbusters on disc.

You need to spend some time away from the internet. All it does is scare you.

It should scare all of us, the market for movies to disc would instantly shrink.

No one knows what it *might* mean; they just think that they do. I sure hope that you don't jump off of cliffs as readily as you do to conclusions.

It would hugely benefit Netflix to put a huge dent in disc collecting.

There will be no streaming. There will be no discs.

No one will be able to afford either one after buying $200 tickets to see 90 minute versions of movies in "The Sphere."

Steedeel has a point, Netflix acquiring Warner changes the landscape on the Film Industry and Disc Production.

Said by The Business Standard and Collider:

If Netflix buys Warner, what is the impact on producing discs?
The acquisition of Warner Bros. by Netflix could have significant implications for the film industry, particularly for the production of discs. Here are some potential impacts:

Loss of Theatrical Experience: With Warner Bros. Discovery's focus on streaming, the company's film legacy may be absorbed into Netflix's streaming-first strategy, potentially eroding the cinematic experience.

Cultural Footprint: Films released directly to streaming, even with massive budgets, tend to fade from public conversation quickly, unlike those that have been released in theaters.

IP Valuation: Warner Bros. Discovery's ownership by Netflix could lead to the use of its iconic franchises to produce more streaming-exclusive content, which could devalue their cinematic legacy.

Licensing Agreements: Warner Bros. Discovery's CEO, David Zaslav, has expressed dissatisfaction with Netflix's payment policies, which could lead to disputes over licensing payments and distribution deals.

These factors suggest that a Netflix acquisition of Warner Bros. could have a profound impact on the film industry, affecting the way films are produced, released, and consumed.

Hoping you talk to someone about them.

I feel like things are looking up for me personally lately and I focus on what's good.

Steedeel,

Taylor Swift is having an Album Release Party using AMC theaters. Have you found a way to spin this as doom yet ?

https://www.goodmorningamerica.com/c...ters-125739876

Also,

I got googly eyes for the Jaws pinball machine I posted about and managed to DL and play a virtual version of it. These virtual pinball machines are free and the software that runs them is free. You can spend on making a pinball looking and feeling cabinet as an option. I mention all this becuase there are several virtual pinball machines based on fun movies: Halloween, It, Star Wars, Star Track, John Wick, Ghostbusters, and so many more. I wasn't trying to get a new hobby but dern it I'm in now. Will build a virtaul pinball machine to go with my modified MsPacMan cabinet for the arcade outside of my Home Theater.
