It looks like it might be region B locked. This may very well be the title that pushes me to buy a region free player.

Well the bluraydisc de link says English subs (specs are preliminary atm) but I can't imagine it having them as the DVD did not.

I bought this version of Appleseed but the 2004 movie disc dont play in my region B bluray player even that it says region B on the disc?

Thoughts or others with same problem?

many Discs from Universum manufactured between 2008 and 2012 have a big problem. After about 10 years they stop working.

You can send Leonine (new Name of Universum) an E-Mail and ask for a replacement. They will test the Disk and send you a replacement if it is realy not working.

There are other Labels in Germany with the same Problem:
Constantin
Splendid
Kinowelt (Now Studio Chanal)
Concorde

But these other labels won't send replacements.

Most likely every disc produced by Sonopress, one of the biggest pressing plants of Blu-rays in Europe, between 2007 and 2017 has stopped working or will stop working within the near future, because they used a varnish for producing the discs that dissolves and/or changes colour, which makes the discs unplayable.
