Never played the games. Don't have plans on playing them either.

I enjoyed the first movie. Very techy, horror-ish and sci-fi-ish. A good movie. Second one was cool, but could have been a bit better. Have not seen the third. Probably will wait until it hits blu.

I agree with some here. If a movie is based off a book or game, there will always be a group of people that will think it sucks because it was not EXACT or blah blah blah. I say ****em. When they become directors, then they can do it how they want. Until then, you get what you get. So stop *****ing.

I played the silent hill games also and i loved the movie, as long as they have a good script and a good director who knows the material, it can work.

Just saw the movie. Enjoyed it....though I knew I would before I even bought the ticket. I felt it had more blood which was nice....some pretty sweet fight scenes....and the usual ending that leaves you wondering, while you wait for the girlfriend to lift your jaw back into place.

I saw it. was not to bad. When i watch these movies i think of them as crappy zombie movies. It was a lot better than the other two though. I have a couple complaints. 1. the guy who played Wesker SUCKED

**************** SPOILERSSSSSSS *****************************

2. they killed off carlos and L.J. L.J. I thought was the only interesting original character in the franchise.

3. Claire smoked and was like thirty. First off I like Ali larter but she was a terrible choice for claire. She did alright but come on! CLAIRE DOES NOT SMOKE!

4. they killed off the only other two people I thought were interesting, the sniper dude and the curly haired dude.

******************* END SPOILER******************************

I did like the kick @$$ fight scenes though and it filled my need for a zombie flick.

Love the games, think the movies are stupid...but I watch them anyway.

Zombies and RE...even done badly, it's watchable. I'd prefer if it were more horror than the MTV infused action fest it is...but, what can you do. Whether people like it or not, it has proven to be a pretty consistent franchise monetarily speaking. So it's no shock they're not changing the formula.

I thought the movies were good, but I'll wait until the movie comes out on DVD. You should make this a pole!

ok, what are you on about? If you base your movie on a ready made franchise isn't your designated audience going to be the people who are dedicated to that franchise? The people that made it big in the first place?

So some shit director comes along and says "hey if i make a film out of resi evil i score cause they've got so many fans their bound to watch it" thats ok?

I say **** you, you deserve shit movies.

Edit: my last comment was too harsh, we're all friends here, but your "****em" comment pissed me off cause i'm one "em" and i could make a way better film than any of those. It's not that easy to get into hollywood.

I know, your comment was too harsh on what he said that was all. Spidey three wasn't that bad, a lot better than any resi film.

Well, my son and I just got back from the film. I must say, I liked the first film. I thought the second was ok too ... some decent action scenes. This third film was not as good as the second, but was still an ok film.

My son thought this was the best of the Resident Evil films ... because there were a LOT of zombies in the film.

Of course, the door was left WIDE open for another film. So I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Paul WS Anderson.

Oh ... while I'm thinking about it ... the one thing that I didn't like were the unresolved plot points.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< SPOILERS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
1. Is Alaska and infection free zone?

2. What was the fate of the folks on the helicopter?

3. Is Alice's blood a real "cure" for the virus?

4. Is the hybrid Nemesis guy really dead?

The movie really needs to be more dark and scary, i didnt really like the story at all it seemed dumb to me. And Im happy a lot of the people died, and the whole psychic abilities were just way over the top and a horrible thing that should have not ever of been. But im a sucker and if an other one comes out ill go see it.

I went to see this last night and I thought it was very good. I liked it a lot more than Apocalypse. Also, I was totally shocked that it was directed by Russell Mulcahy of Highlander fame because I haven't seen anything from him in ages. Anyway no wonder it was so well directed. He's great.

Proof that a movie based on a videogame just can't handle the source material. I thought part 2 was absolutely diabolical. Whats next, alice grows wings and fly's?

Watched the movie today. It was good but the fight at the end. Lets say they were charging to see this fight and it's going to cost you $1 and you only got 25 cents worth. It was bam, bam done. 2 pump chump, sorta speak.

If you want to criticize a movie because it's just not your thing, that's fine, but it frustrates me when you can't be a "true" RE fan if you like the movies.

Oh no! They've changed things that were in the games! Worst movie ever!

That's odd, everyone seemed to love RE4, and it changed even more than the movies did. No more enclosed spaces, no more Umbrella, no more zombies, heck, survival was hardly even an issue, seeing as how ammo was plentiful. Survival horror was changed into action-adventure. Everyone loved it (myself included). In fact, they even took a well known character and *gasp* changed him from the last time we saw him!

Really, I think it's ridiculous when people expect a videogame movie (or a comic movie) to remain identical to their original source. Changes are both needed to attract people who don't play games and to keep the experience new for those who know the material. Heck, if it was a shot by shot remake of one of the games, fans would still find something to complain about. Have you played a Resident Evil recently? The acting in those games makes the RE movies look academy award worthy.

Alright, I'm done now. Yes, it's a rant, and yes, people will probably flame me, but I'm just irked. If you hate the movies, that's fine, but don't accuse people of being "mindless followers" or people who are not "true" fans of the games.

Thanks for reading.
I do not expect the movie to stay identical to the original. I don't expect anybody to make a resident evil 1 movie exactly how it happened in the game. As you said, we can play the games again. I loved RE4, it is my favorite so far. What does bother me is continuity. If they wanted to do an original story, or original characters thats fine, but it should at least fit in with the game timelines and plot. I have basic issues like not introducing chris redfield but introducing claire when the ONLY reason claire was in the games was to look for chris. I have not seen this myself but i read online( i think it was in someones post) that you can see a newspaper or a news program on tv (in RE apocalypse) that says something along the lines that jill valentine was being investigated for the murder of leon kennedy.(which did NOT happen if you have played the games, he is still alive) I don't mind changes as long as there is continuity.(should I make a star wars video game where darth vader is luke skywalkers son?) Ali larter as claire was stupid, she is supposed to be 19ish, wesker was horrendous. I would have rather had them get the guy who was in the intro to the original RE1. Alice is the WORST original character. I agree with an earlier poster who said that LJ was the most interesting original character so far, even though I dont really like mike epps. There were a couple moments when action look crappy. You could clearly tell milla jovovich was a mile away from one of the zombies when she "kicked" him. How does umbrella shut down alice? is she a robot? where does a gigantic underground facility get electricity from when... Please excuse all my grammar and spelling errors, I wrote this very quickly. I also jumped around a lot so there might be an unfinished sentence or idea. Basically, to sum up. There is ZERO continuity with the games. I want to see some cranks damnit, and elevators that are missing batteries. Barry, where's Barry!?!?!?

BTW Paul WS Anderson is writing Castlevania.(another game to movie that will blow) And to comment on Alone in the dark, I never played the games, but I saw the movie and it was the worst piece of crap ever. OK, I'm done... I could go on forever.
