g10 vs v10

I was looking at the 58" V10 @ Amazon a few nights ago, getting a feel for pricing on it ($2800 IIRC), probably going to see what happens on Black Friday and the holidays though before I buy.

the 58'' can be had for a shade over $2300 on 6ave.com, and you can get the 54'' for $1999 ($1899 if you have a Bing.com account, with the Cashback included) from us-appliances.com

both are reputable online retailers. I'm still deciding which one I want.

I'm doing the same thing. It's too close to the holidays to ignore a potentially huge price cut.

the 96hz/24p looks just right. movies do not flicker and there is just the right amount of the motion enhancement. its not over the top like they display it in the stores. I'm not a big fan of the auto motion, but if it's toned down and dialed in correctly and doesnt take away from the film look then it can be o.k.

There is no motion enhancement in US-spec Panasonic plasmas. 96Hz is just a refresh rate used to display each frame (of 24) 4 times. No more.

i know, but can take on that motion enhancement look at times while not being over the top. the scene that sticks out in my mind because i just watched it was the incredible hulk (Ed Norton) when he wakes up next to the water fall in Guatemala. I guess i could explain it as the t.v cleaning up the image to it's full potential instead of motion enhancement.

I got the 54"G10 for $1550. It looks great to me. I haven't seen it next to a
V10, but I'm happy with it, and it saved me about $450 if the V10 is $1999. If I had the money, I'd probably get the better TV, but you can buy a lot of blu-ray movies for $450.

Oh, gotchya. Yeah, it is pretty amazing for certain kinds of movies/shots.

The TV actually doesn't clean up the image at all. What it does is allow the viewer to see the movie the same way it was filmed. It doesn't alter the picture AT ALL.

Is 7 inches worth 1400 dollars? I guess it depends on who you ask ....my wife would lol at that question.....The v10 58 can be had at 6th Ave with a coupon for 2296 and the 65 inch is selling for 3700 if you can find one....Will the 65 inch come down to around 3000 by black Friday or is it wishful thinking and i should just go ahead and jump on the 58? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Don't think of it as 7". Think of it as 25% larger viewing area.

That being said, the 58V10 is probably the best TV value out there right now. I have an older 58" Pany set, and it's plenty big, though I'd like to upgrade to the V10 within the next 6-9 months.
