Mystic River - February 10, 2010

I think this is one of the few movies that I absolutely HATED. I think the acting in it is absolutely astounding, but the ending just completely ruined it for me. Tim Robbins did an outstanding job and I commend his performance, but the way that movie ended was just wrong on so many levels. I think it was because I liked Tim Robbins' character so much.

Anyway, glad to hear it is coming to blu for those who really want it!

Isn't that usually the mark of a great film though to elicit such a strong reaction like the one you had?

It would have been a great film if the ending didn't seem so overblown. I mean, come on.

[Show spoiler]Kevin Bacon making the "gun" with his hand and pretend shooting Sean Penn to say that he knows what he did. Sorry, but considering they fell out of being friends early on, I felt that wasn't believable at all

Liked the movie,but thought the ending abit much.Maybe it was a homage to David Lynch's 'Blue velvet'?

I def respect your opinion here, even though I disagree. The reason I respect your opinion is because you acknowledge what is indisputably great about the film--the acting--and then give a valid reason for your dislike of the film.

My DVD cost me $ 1.50 back in Nov. of 2008, so this is a no-brainer if the reviews for PQ & AQ are good. Own ALL of Clint Eastwood's films.
