The Stepfather - February 9th 2010 - Blu-ray Forum

Amazon lists a February 9th, 2010 release date on Blu for the 2009 Horror/Thriller remake starring Penn Badgley, Dylan Walsh & Sela Ward.

Just saw the BD cover through a press conference and its mighty terrible, it features the "stepfather" about to go down a pair of steps holding on to a knife, and the family all gathered on the right hand corner trying to hide from him under the stairs. It sounds good when described but when you see it's mighty choppy. The 3 family members on the right corner look terribly photoshopped. The angle of the stairs doesn't blend properly with the angle in which they are trying to hide.

Better than what they were originally going to go with.

What are you talking about!

I take that cover art any day over the choppy one their using now. Nothing beats a theatrical poster artwork for its home video release.

^^ Ahhh yes, There it is. I really careless about this movie, didn't see it in theaters yet I heard a lot of trash talk about it, but that cover is mighty bad.

If they decide to remove the poorly photoshopped family on the right hand side, the cover would be fine, if not excellent.

I saw this at Wal-Mart and the cover made it look interesting. What did you guys think of it?. If you had to compare it to any other horror/thriller which would you compare it to?.

It can be compared to any other "person comes across as good but is ultimately up to something bad and you know it but the characters dont" kind of thing. Its not a bad flick by any means. The original is obviously better and is much "darker" in my opinion. That one was rated R and this one is PG-13 so thats a difference worth noting. This release has the unrated cut too which may add a little. Not sure.

Its worth a watch for sure - we streamed it a while back on Netflix.

I wouldnt call it a horror film. Probably more of a thriller/serial killer flick.

The blu-ray WAS $7.99 or something on amazon but it went up. Seems like everytime I find a good deal on Amazon it goes up right away.
