The only way this movie could've been better is if Emmy Rossum had been in it more than she was, otherwise fantastic yet depressing film.

Great film. Another in a long line of great Clint Eastwood directed works. Tim Robbins performance in this is tremendous. Loved the novel as well.

I have always regretted missing this in the theatre, and can't believe I still haven't seen it. It will be an easy blind buy, great news.

Definitely one of my favorite movies of all time. It is a gripping drama with fantastic performances from Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, and Kevin Bacon. And greatly directed by my favorite actor Clint Eastwood.

I think this is one of the few movies that I absolutely HATED. I think the acting in it is absolutely astounding, but the ending just completely ruined it for me. Tim Robbins did an outstanding job and I commend his performance, but the way that movie ended was just wrong on so many levels. I think it was because I liked Tim Robbins' character so much.

Anyway, glad to hear it is coming to blu for those who really want it!

Isn't that usually the mark of a great film though to elicit such a strong reaction like the one you had?

Dennis Lehane is an amazing writer. Just watched Gone Baby Gone again tonight. Mystic River is his another great book and equally amazing movie. I guess Warner is trying to cash in for this release due to the fact another Lehane adapted work is releasing theatrically around the same time - Shutter Island. I've read Shutter Island and it is a signature Lehane. can't wait to watch it in theaters.

I went with my girlfriend to watch this movie in the theater in 03. As soon as I sat down I fell asleep and woke up once the end credits were rolling. A few weeks ago I watched it on AMC. It only took me six years to see it. LOL

Excellent news. Let's hope this is the start of a great series of back catalog releases on Blu-ray in 2010. This year has been rather frustrating in terms of the rate of back catalog releases, probably not helped by the recession, so I'm hoping 2010 will be much better. An excellent follow-up from Warner would be for them to announce 'Insomnia'. And then of course, there are all those classics from the 70's awaiting the Blu-ray treatment.
