Default Anybody elses Non HD ZUNE become junk after new updates?

So after the latest couple of updates My Zune 80 Has become junk

when playing most tracks, 5 seconds into the playing, Audio stops, Zune locks up

When just browsing the Zune, It will lock up

When It locks up and shuts off getting it to boot again is almost impossible.

finally, It well not sync music anymore

Not to mention Microsoft just left us non HD users in the dust

I think it is time for an Ipod touch

Mine is still working flawlessly.

Sounds like your unit just crapped out.

At least Microsoft still supports its products after release unlike iPods where you feel you have to update every year just to get all the new features.

I would go for a Zune HD if you are looking to get a new one.

iPod touch users had to pay $10 to get the 3.0 update that iPhone users got for free. I have iPhones so I didn't pay.

You're right.... I should have phrased it better. I meant with a Zune HD you'd never have to pay for updates.... whereas there is a history of Apple charging for major iTouch updates. Not to mention that sweet OLED screen.

go for the Zune HD, unlimited DL's plus 10 credits a month. down loaded 2,000 songs the first day. Itunes would have costed me well over $2,000 for that

yea I am most likley getting the HD

just kinda frustrated with all of this and how microsoft does business.

and AMAZON Mp3 > Itunes > Zune

I dont understand where all these symptoms came from when it was working flawlessley before these updates. Im not one to blame an update on failure and Im sure it just was its time. but GRRRRRRRRRR

I got fed up with there Zune pas.

Plus not to mention, Still not ALL of there content is in MP3 format.

When I cancelled my zune pass, My "Kept" tracks no longer stayed synced with my zune.

It is nice tho to be able to download almsot whatever you want

That's what I find funny about people dealing with Microsoft as a whole.

They have crap service, deny problems until there's massive amounts of lawsuits on the table and have been caught more than once with their hand in the antitrust cookie jar.

And yet people still blindly support them.

Haha, I wasn't talking about you.

I have this one friend who so blindly supported Microsoft that when everyone else was talking about how much they hated Vista and how companies en masse were going back to XP he would practically stick his hand down his pants every time Vista was mentioned.

I've also had friends that on their 3rd or 4th 360 would happily send it back to Microsoft to get repaired.

Plain sillyness if you ask me.

Vista never deserved the vast majority of bashing that it got. 95% of that bashing comes from people who barely know how to use their PC for more than email and Facebook... and they jumped right on the "ZOMG Vista Suxors" bandwagon JUST because they found UAC annoying and had no idea how easily it could be disabled. It's a highly stable OS that does an EXCELLENT job of maintaining it's own core. I've run the same install of Vista 24 hours a day since it came out, without any loss of performance; no matter how many things I install or uninstall. It's not very efficient with it's resources.... but it is indeed a very solid and reliable OS. XP was much more resource efficient.... but I had to do a clean install at least once a year to keep it running at it's top speed.

Now anyone who wants to bash Windows Millenium Edition... send me an invite, and I will gladly join THAT party.

You don't need a massive amount of money to have a Mac.

Just wait until the current Macs are being sold off by their owners, one friend of mine has to get 'the next big thing' and brand new stuff right off the lot within days of them coming out.

That's how I got my totally up-to-date Mac Pro {last years model} for $800. 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB of RAM. If I look at random PC's right now that are at that price I can't even remotely get anything comparable.

And there are 2nd hand shops that have similar deals as well. Just a matter of waiting until the prices come down on the newer models in order to get a deal.

You're not looking in the right places. I got a new PC a few months ago for $900, 2.66 Ghz quad core with 6 gig of RAM, tv tuner, and HDMI output.... and that was of course for a never been used PC. I could have gotten one with a blu-ray drive for the same price... but the specs were a bit lower, so I opted to install my own BD drive later if I choose to.
