If you are going to go exclusive why not do it before 4th quarter so anyone on the fence will buy a blu ray player this holiday season. This is the Death Blow to HDDUD that we have waited for if it's true. Universal will go neutral soon after and Paramount will buy out of there deal in Q2 next year after losing more than they gained in there pay off. Let's all pray to the BlU GODS tonight!!!
Nickerson stepped down because he pushed for WB to go hddvd exclusive. WB rejected the offer from the hddvd camp to go exclusive back in August. Nickerson threw a temper tantrum and threatened to step down. WB said fine because that is not the direction we want to go, so he left.

WB has always had a soft spot for Blu-ray technology. That is why Nickerson never got his way.

I believe this will happen, hopefully tomorrow!!

Ya know, what would be really interesting is if Paramount in their 150 million dollar deal with the HD DVD group, had clauses in their agreement that if any other studio supporting HD DVD defected to Blu-ray, that the agreement was null and void, and would allow them to come back to Blu-ray.

Just a thought.

^^^I know I would have that verbage to cover my bases if I were Paramount.

If that happened I laugh long and hard.

Anyways, this thread has made me completely useless for the night, I can't get anything done now, just b/c I keep checking back every 2 seconds. Oh well, tomorrow can't come soon enough

If true, when will the war be over? My guess is by March 08 if true.
