The fact that it has only DD doesn't ruin the show whatsoever. I am aware of the problems you had with the sound, but it sounds fine and it still has great PQ and the show itself is a great first season. It's still worth the price whether it has HD audio or not. It's time to get over it and just enjoy what's there.

it seems the EU UK disc is also only in 5.1 dolby Digital.... actually its idendical to the US discs...

so this means the French discs is completely different dics made for the French market...

That is going to sound bad, and be hard to understand, regardless of codec. Lossless/PCM doesn't undo the effects of mumbling.
