I think the point of pre-outs is to bypass the receiver's internal amplifier, and it's my understanding that stand alone amps aren't meant to handle signals that are already amplified. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in on this one. I also suggest you contact Sony customer support and see what they have to say about using this model with an amp.

I'm not going to risk it. Pretty sure I can't do it. I'll run my center off my amp and towers/surrounds off the receiver if I get my Marantz sold. $450 includes shipping in continental US (sorry mods if posting the price here is against rules). I have it listed it the trading forum. Crappy part about this ordeal is I won't have HD audio if marantz is sold.
