Thats it for me. Talk to you guys later tonight!
Either the CS1 or the CS2 would match any of the Polk Monitor Speakers(from the Monitor 30's to the Monitor 70's).

The Polk CS Series of Center Speakers were developed and made to be a match for the Polk Monitor Speakers.
All of the speakers use the same 1 inch silk/polymer Dome Tweeter.
This allows them to sound the same in the upper end of the Frequency Range(And makes sure that the high's from the CS Speakers sound the same as the high's from the Monitor Speakers.)

When it comes to the woofers they use two different sizes.

They have a 5 1/4 inch woofer and a 6 1/2 inch woofer.
Both sizes of woofers use the same polymer composite material for the woofers.

So by using the same material in all the woofers it allows them to sound very similar to each other. And when i say very similar you would have to have the Video part of the Movie turned off and by just listening to the Audio Track of the Movie you may here a very slight difference in the sound between a 6 1/2 inch woofer and a 5 1/4 inch woofer.

But they sound so much alike that while you are watching the movie your ears would not hear a difference in between the 2 different sized woofers.

Aerodude from the Polk Thread and also from the Theater gallery Threads has a Polk CS2 Center Speaker and a Polk Tower Speaker that is just like the Polk Monitor 60 with (3) 5 1/4 inch woofers(but is called the T90e)And he can not tell a difference between the sound when it moves from one of his tower speakers to his center speaker and from the Center Speaker to One of the Tower Speakers.
Even though the CS2 has 6 1/2 inch woofers and the Monitor 60's have 5 1/4 inch woofers.

Now they do make a Polk Monitor 70 that has (4) 6 1/2 inch woofers and a 1 inch dome tweeter. It is the highest priced speaker in the Monitor Line.Right now they are priced at $229.99 each(but they have been on sale for as low as $169.00 each and possibly $10.00 less every so often).

So to get a set up with a pair of Polk Monitor 70's and a Polk CS2 Center Speaker will cost you $450.00 when they are both on sale for the lowest price I have seen them for.

But a CS1 or CS2 Center Speaker will match wonderfully with either the Floorstanding Monitor 50's or Monitor 60's.

And a set up with a pair of Polk Monitor 50's and a Polk CS1 will cost $230.00 when they are both on sale for the lowest price I have seen them for.

So you have a good number of combinations you can put together with the Polk Monitor Speakers and the Polk Audio CS Speakers.
So no matter what price range you have in mind. There is a set of Polks to take care of your Front 3 Speakers.

And then after the Front 3 Speakers,we can find some speakers to use for your surrounds.

Have a Good One,Mike. I am sure will see you around 2AM the next late night/early morning you are at work.

Tals did a great job answering your question.

I just wanted to add that the majority of HT comes from the center speaker. With that said, if you can swing the CS2, I think you will be happier in the long run. I think Monitor 60's and a CS2 is a REALLY sweet setup.

Later!

Thanks you Tals! You have really helped me make the informed decision. I will purchase the CS2 and hen save for either the Monitor 60s, or possibly, the Monitor 70s. Thanks again for your help and encouragement. Ill talk to you all later tonight! Gotta get ready for work!

I know. That is really crappy to happen to someone. I had a similar situation before when i started using eBay.

It was when Matrix Reloaded came out, Samsung made a phone for sprint that looked just like the one they used in the last two films. It was in short supply and i really wanted it. On top of that i had just graduated and got graduation presents(money). So i offered the guy on ebay to sell it to me for X amount of money. He siad sure and gave me his address to send it to him. Needless to say, he conned me. I never got the phone and i was out over 300 bucks.

That is why i make sure transactions are secure now. I am like the IRS if someone owes me money, I will keep on you till you pay up.

I dont blame you at all about that.Once you get burned at least once its something you Never Forget and causes you to handle purchases differently from then on .

I have been taken before, for a good amount of money. And since then I am very careful of conducting transactions.
If its for a couple of Used Blu Rays I dont worry too much.

And I Really Like the "Trading/Buying/Selling" Rankings they have here on the Forum. Its a Good Way of Knowing who to Trust, especially if you are making a Big Purchase like Speakers or a Receiver.

There have been some Really Great Deals on Speakers in There.

Just a couple of weeks ago,Aerodude, sold an almost Brand New Pair Of Polk Monitor 40's and a Pair of Polk Monitor 30's.

And he even included a pair of (@$50 to $60) B-Tech Wall Mounts in the Deal as well.

So I dont know how much he sold it for,but Someone got 2 Pairs of Almost Brand New Polk Monitor Speakers and a Pair Of Solid Steel Wall Mounts.

Once they Got these 4 Speakers and Bought a Center Speaker and They Have a 5 Channel Polk Audio Surround Speaker Set for maybe 2/3 or 1/2 of what they cost New .

Shame that couldnt have happened while you were looking for speakers. It would have Been a Very Nice Upgrade for your Home Theater at a Very Good Price.

I have checked the projector out to make sure I knew how to run the right connections to it so I can use it with my system. And when I did everything worked perfectly.

But I have to wait until the first week of November to order the screen as well as the stand to set the projector on.
I have to get a stand high enough to clear the back of my sofa/Futon as well as clearing anybody's head as well.

But its been a little difficult to find one that is big enough and tall enough that can handle the weight and not cost $300.00.

The screen isnt that expensive since the largest screen I can get to use in my room is just 84 inches diagonally.
The projector would throw an image of 140 inches diagonally and even bigger .

But my room isnt big enough to set the projector away from the screen far enough to go more then 84 inches.
But considering I am only using a 37 inch 720p LCD TV now,84 inches will be a pretty nice step up .

I did, but was disappointed in the Coraline BD I finally watched. Great PQ, but I just couldn't get into it. As such, after about 20 minutes I turned it off. I'll have to retry again some other time.

John

PS~ Nice new Avatar Todd!
