Not to crap on DrinkMore's thread...

JTK, try looking at HP's new line of widescreen monitors at a store, specifically the 24 inch w2408.

Cheaper than Dell's by US$69. I've only seen the 22" one but I was impressed with the black level. Of course the intent here is co-sharing the monitor as a computer monitor and a PS3 screen but if you're looking something bigger but a HDTV, might as well get a HDTV.

It's cool

I can't speak of the HP. I am biased as I do not like HP. However, my bias is not limited to just them. Clean simple lines and non-bulkyness is hard to come by. Dell so far (also apple but I am not counting them) seems to hit that mark right on time after time. Even the speaker that attaches to the monitor is sleek and simple.

I guess I am just crazy

Now that I've seen the pix (I thought it was weird that the pix were gone), I have a question for you. Have you tried doing 1:1 pixel mapping on the monitor for the PS3? I ask because the video looks vertically stretched.

JTK, the model is w2408. The link is in the post.

Yeah I have tried it. I end up with a 4x6 image in the middle of the screen. Not sure why or what the deal is, but it's not right or I am missing something. I will take a pic when my cam charges.

I also assume that you can't do 1080p24 with this monitor. Am I wrong? I don't know if the HP can do it either.

Nope. Its 1080p60. No monitor on the market that I am aware of can do 24.

Not at all. Dell really deserves major props for what they've been doing with their monitors.

^^ That's another one that I keep running across. Is that newer than their 2465 monitor? I'm suspecting that it is...

This, the dell 2407, the Gateway 2485...all under consideration along with several other things.
