So you ran both wires along the same path, but one is longer because you had to keep running it around to the speaker on the other side?

Ok, That kinda confused me. The left speaker has the door frames to go around, the right has a window and then a straight shot to the other wall.

Once you have the speakers in place the avr setup will take care of the distance. You may or may not have to put the distance from the listening spot to each speaker. |

Think you want the speaker wires ideally the same length. At least the front 3...the surrounds same length if possible on minimum. Not sure on this though. Need thicker/better wire for longer distances. I think you should be fine with what u have now mike for speaker wire.

I may have figured out a way to simplify this. Ill run the speaker wire straight across the wal inbetween the two door frames where ill have my computer desk and cover the majority of it with the bulletin board. That should make the length significantly shorter.

I see what you are saying,Mike. In order to hide the speaker wire on one side you have to follow the edges of the door casings until it gets to the Quintet speaker you are using for the Surround.
Even if it means one side will have a lot of extra wire dont worry about that.Just do what you have to, in order to keep the wires the same length to each surround. So if one side has an extra 10 feet of wire longer then it had to have ,that will be perfectly fine. You will be better off getting the two surrounds with the same length of wire to each. |

Mike, I have been lurking as I haven't been totally sure what the concern was.....but if it just the fact that one speaker run is going to be longer than the other....it means nothing (except if the extra wire is visible or something like that.) Hec, one of mine is at least 5 feet longer than the other. Todd is right, you'll be fine.

When I say the 2 Surround Speakers need to have the same length of Speaker Wire, that doesn't mean that it has to use that much wire. If you cut the wire for both speakers 42 feet, and one side only needed 30 feet;Just take the extra 12 inches to the shorter speaker and hide it. If one Quintet is 12 feet away and the other Quintet is also 12 feet away from the TV and Receiver, then that would be Awesome. But if it takes 20 feet of wire to hide the wire and go to one speaker. And 32 feet of wire,to hide the wire, and get it to the other speaker. Then cut BOTH runs of Speaker Wire 32 feet each. But keep the Quintet Speakers in the same exact position they are already in. |

Ok Guys. Good Morning to you all! I got it all done around 9:30pm. I really like this arrangement alot better. The only thing That messed me up is that i cut a length of speaker wire 5 ft too short and Since it was only a 50ft spool, i have to go out and buy another one. Basically I needed 30 ft but cut 25 ft. I am about to pass out so I will take pictures hopefully tomarrow and post them. Until then, Good Night all!!
