My favorite Doctor Who films were the two starring the late Peter Cushing.

Waters of Mars airs November 15th in the UK. Does anyone know when they start air the two-part finale in the UK? I'm guessing the last part will be on Christmas day?

The first part might be Christmas in the UK and new years for part 2. That has been thrown around a lot from staff and Russel.

You're welcome. I believe Waters of Mars airs Dec. 19th in the States, but I'll probably be back that side of the pond by that time.

Thanks for this, that would make a lot sense... be great to have a Doctor Who fueled holiday season!

I wonder if the boxset with all of the specials will have all of the specials individually packaged, as that seems to be the only way to get The Next Doctor on Blu.

The Next Doctor will be a blu-ray up convert for the complete specials box set. So I guess if I get the next doctor on DVD for Christmas I will pass on the box and just get singles if I don't I might get the boxset if they are the singles in a boxset since I love the cover art.

The Complete Specials box set should be well worth it for the extra features, which are unlikely to be featured on the other Blu Ray releases of the specials - the Complete box is designed to be the equivalent of the previously-released season boxsets, with additional content to the largely vanilla individual volumes.

Looking forward to the Complete set - should be good. And just to confirm, The End of Time Parts 1 and 2 will be broadcast on BBC One on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

The only extras the complete specials box has that the singles don't is a confidential for The Next Doctor and doctor who at the proms all the other singles still have the confidential for their special.

Talking Verification of Doctor Who Specials on Dec 19th

I want to thank everyone for their input on the Doctor Who Specials.

I have also verified that BBCA is running Doctor Who Specials starting at 5:30 pm (EST) channel 264 on Directv.

The Next Doctor starts at 5:30 pm

Planet of the Dead starts at 6:45 pm

Inside the Tardius Special at 8:00 pm

Waters of Mars at 9:00 pm

Directv does not broadcast BBCA in HD yet. but will still be nice to finally see the Waters of Mars special.

Now if they would just broadcast the two parts in the States at the same time that would be the perfect Christmas/New Year's Day present.

Regards,

cheffner

I am definitely into this one. I saw the Doctor Who at the Proms special at a science fiction convention and thoroughly enjoyed it. As show-themed concerts go, this one easily topped the Star Trek: The Music concert I attended the same year, with its professionalism and stage presentations.

The version I saw was nowhere near high-def (probably YouTube), so a clean screen and good sound on The Proms special should be great.
