1) On the "Most Popular Deals" at the top, you can now also select "Show latest price drops" (to the right) to see the "Latest Price Drops" instead of the Most Popular Deals.
2) Since "Latest Price Drops" is filtered to try to filter out irrelevant/uninteresting titles, there's also a checkbox in the site settings to show unfiltered results = all the latest price drops. This way it will work similarly to a stock ticker, which can be more interesting for hardcore members.
3) Various optimizations to make the site load faster.

Done, all movie-listings are now sortable by production year. Please notice that movies without a production year (for example box-sets with TV-series) will turn up first in the results.

Just thinking with you, but could it be a solution to just use the year in which that season started (or ended, for that matter) as production year?

Edit:
Furthermore, I've noticed that my preference for sorting my collection are not remembered and I cannot choose a default option on the settings page. This really annoys me, since I don't want The Dark Knight to keep popping up as most popular title. So in my opinion you will have to implement an option that either remember's the user's last chosen option for future viewing purposes. Or add a default setting option in the settings page.
The new sorting feature is great, but not while the sorting jumps back to "most popular" every time I visit "My Collection" - "Overview" - "Owned".

Another thing that caught my eye as I just received Sin City and I can now remove it from the price tracker, is that it can be difficult to see which E or D to click to either edit or delete that price tracking. I used a magazine to make sure I didn't remove the movie above or below Sin City. Maybe it's just me and other will see it more easily, I don't know. However, if it's not just me then I think it would be better to add the movie title to the hint or alt text, whatever you call the small text that pops up when hovering above either of those letters.

I normally don't complain too much but I have a problem with the default sorting of my collection.

I personally do not care which is more popular. When I use my page AND when I send my page to friends, I want it sorted alphabetically like it always has been.

If they or I want to sort it after, then that is awesome. But change it back or give me a setting to choose my default sort.

Many thanks. I love this site!!!

Yeah, just noticed this and it's a bit jarring. Alphabetical was perfect, is there any way I can set that to the default view?

Question (and this may be too specific of a request whose implementation might be largely unused): Is it possible to have the ability to search movies by director, so someone would be able to search for all of a certain director's movies available/coming out on blu-ray?

I would sometimes use this. But only for movies from director's of which you know have a lot of great movies, i.e. Quentin Tarantino, Tim Burton, etc...

That's what I was thinking too, and I would guess the feature would be increasingly used as more movies are released. However, the thought occurred to me when I was trying to find all of Ingmar Bergman's movies currently available on blu-ray, which is why I thought the addition might be useful

EDIT: I stand corrected. Apparently the ability to search cast and crew is already on the site! A belated thanks, Iceman/Marwin. Although when I try to search for Ingmar Bergman nothing comes up (and I know he's done The Seventh Seal)?

Oops, this was an unintended side-effect after we generalized the sort function, it's fixed now.

The cast & crew data is a bit outdated, this is something we will look over in a near future

The lines are now alternating colors which should hopefully solve this

Also fixed, TV-series and box-sets with trilogies etc, will now have a year range, with start year and end year, for example BSG:

Please give us some time to update all listings

Well thank you, it's easy to fix when members report the exact problems

Search movies/reviews now also support year ranges for TV-sets etc

I've just checked the tracker and noticed the email notification when the price falls within a certain range. This is very nice feature, but I was wondering if there were any plans to enhance this a bit for the following reasons:

1) Some users don't check in everyday or remain logged in when returning so they potentially miss many price changes alerts

2) The notification range is hard to set as you may have an expensive set like BattleStar Gallactica combined with a less expensive title like Bolt.

I guess I'm wondering if there any plans to take the notification to the next level and allow it to be granular enough that it operates on a per title basis. Therefore, given the example above, a member could set a $20 price range for BSG and a $5 price range for Bolt.

Finally, thanks for all the great work on the site. It is truly appreciated.

Nice job on the site .

Some feature requests/musings:
-Latest price drops page currently shows all movies. It would be nice to be able to exclude items currently in the owned collection (plus maybe the ordered ones as well - this also applies to the deals page).
-User setting for disabling the price drops bar would be nice. As nice of a feature it is to be able to see this nicely along with price graphs, it seems a little excessive on every page.
-up to 200 per page for collection seems somewhat arbitrary... (while this is likely way larger than most would want to see in the expanded view, 200 table rows is hardly that many - especially in comparison). May be worthwhile to increase this for sake of the simple layout viewers.
-The whole double click add for anything was also a tad annoying, especially with the first initial add (and makes it slightly more work to quickly add something to the wishlist). Although don't really have a good thought of fixing with the whole watched flag (perhaps have the initial click do an in-place, on the page, add to say default owned category and have it unwatched, offering a button to toggle watch and an additional form in-line on the same page to change anything from defaults).

I've found a bug, which I will describe in chronological order:
- I added Band of Brothers UK version to my price tracker with £20 as my price, it was £22.97 at that time
- Today I received an e-mail that the price tracker had found a match, but the movie page still said £22.97.
- The price tracker also says £22.97, but when viewing the graph it suddenly shows a drop to £17.98.
- I then checked the Amazon.co.uk website and it was indeed £17.98.

So I think the updating on Blu-ray.com is either a little slow or there's a bug, since the graph here does show the correct price.

Thanks for letting us know about this.

I'm working on making the Amazon-updates even faster and some data was temporarily disabled from updating (such as the pricing shown on movie pages). I just forced a complete update of the entire site so everything should be displayed correctly now
