I'll say that I disagree that it's more "natural" looking. It does look smoother, and I even think it's a neat effect. I personally wouldn't want it in my movies, however.
It's used to combat the currently inherent problems in LCD technology- motion resolution. Since plasma doesn't have this issue, there's no need for the gimmick. If you really like it (and many do) there are a lot of nice LCD's that are capable of it and have a great display to boot. The only drawback is that they are many times much more expensive than a comparable plasma. I personally think the Samsung LED LCD's offer up a great picture with a lot of pop, but they come at nearly 3x the price of plasma. Personally, I'm very happy with my plasma set and I would really have to think about it if someone were to offer me a straight up trade with the Samsung LED LCD. There are good and bad things to both technologies, but overall you will not find motion enhancers in plasmas. |
