It’s all about $$$.....When a neutral individual buys one disc, they’ve given support to HD DVD. I have nothing against folks that enjoy HD media just for the sake thereof, but the bottom line is $$$. It can be argued that the numbers are so small that they don’t matter, but I disagree. Look at the numbers of the “total” discs owned by a neutral (purple) supporter…..Whether they have 1 or 100 HD DVD’s in their collection, regardless of Blu titles, that is support, that is $$$, and that helps keep HD DVD alive.

I say regardless of Blu due to a 1 for 1 comparison being a wash except for instances such as 300, which is not a wash if bought on Blu, being support for Blu was conveyed to the studio.

Here are some ways to stop the money trail for interested purple supporters and hasten the format war:
1) Buy only Blu!
2) Buy SD if not available in Blu…I know it hurts, trust me…think Transformers, Blades of Glory, and Shrek the 3rd. These studios cannot get funding on their HD material. Let them have it in SD but not HD and we’ll win in the Nelsons and other areas.
3) Do not rent HD DVD either….Those funds will go to buy more HD DVD stock and be shown as support for the format.

The bottom line is $$$.......
Purchase + Support = $$$

Please feel free to poke holes in the above or add too.
