Demon's Souls – Now a PS3 Greatest Hits title

Yeah, 1-4 was a piece of cake once I decided to take the battle seriously and not be stupid with the controls.

I guess thats what I get for playing another game and then trying to play Demon's Souls and think that for 1 second it'll be lenient in battle.

This is just a follow up from earlier all the worlds are still black for me. I think if I keep playing offline they will stay black until I start killing some of those black phantoms.

To get the worlds from black to pure white it is best not to play in online mode as it has a tendency to frequently reset the world tendency to neutral. Killing black phantom's and bosses will move your world tendency to white...but don't forget to do the pure black world tendency events for various items including the colorless demon's souls from the primeval demon's...

Well, I'm wondering if I should start a new game cycle now, or just farm where I'm at now because it'll just be more difficult if I start a new game. I've defeated all the demons now except for 5-3.

Still having a pure black tendency world makes it kind of annoying really :/ I wish this goes back to neutral at least

Have you gone online yet?

If so, try going to a world, then going back to the nexus. Then quit your game (not to the XMB) and then restart it.

Absolutely.

It makes the runs a lot quicker and less chance for error with losing your souls with failing to recover your blood stain. Also its great for when you want to go into a world for a specific thing thats out of the way of a archstone.


You learn it from the guy in the Nexus that teachers Miracles. Its probably the best spell/miracle that I've learned so far. Then again, I'm a melee guy, so I haven't really used any other spell than Anti-Magic Shield.

Though I thought that it'd work when a Black Phantom invaded your world, but it turned out not to be the case. You have to cast the miracle Banish to get rid of them. Though who really has enough Miracle slots to always have those around? lol If I do not want an invader, then I just go into Soul form (suiciding in Nexus) or I just go in Offline mode if I'm want to be in body form.

Yeah I only play online and did quit a few times after going to a world and back to Nexus etc... Even worse, the few worlds I managed to get "whiter" by killing the BPs went back to Black ... !

Something's wrong I believe!

Edit : Maybe it's due to me being on European Time too ?

Hrm....I dunno if time is an issue as its way past Halloween by now to make a difference. Maybe the European servers are still celebrating Halloween?

What is the message you get when you login to the Demon's Souls network? Does it still give the halloween message or the normal one?

5-3 is a pushover if you have a bow and a Thief's Ring.

As for your comment, after you finish the last of the Arch Demons the game will not end. The Maiden in Black will open a new path for you, and following her will end the game. You won't be able to level up, but you can still return to all of the worlds and farm stones or work on anything you would like. You'll retain all of your souls into NG+, but you won't be able to level up until you complete 1-1. The demons hit harder, but I could still kill most in one hit. I was able to go through 1-1 in about 20-ish minutes without dying once on NG+. I was around Soul Level 100 when I began NG+.

I didnt go online yesterday and it stayed all black for me too!

After almost 30 attempt at beating Miralda I found out an easy and quick way to be done with her.

When you go in and out fast she tries to hit you as soon as you lay feet in the tower. Turn around fast but stay in the door. As she tries to follow you outside give her everything you got right there and she will fall in the ditch. Took me about 4-5 slash with my ''Dragon'' sword +4

I was around Soul Level 100 when I began NG+.

So how does NG+ works? You keep your items...You keep your soul level/stats and everything (Spells/miracles)? It's just harder?

The Demons hit much harder, and have more hitpoints. I haven't noticed much change in intelligence/patterns, but I've only just dented NG+ after taking a break from the game. You retain all items on you, all items Stockpile Thomas have, and all souls/spells/miracles that you have. You'll begin in the Nexus (skipping the Tutorial) as you did when starting a brand new game. All NPCs are reset, so you'll have to rescue Yuria, Sage Freke, etc. again.

You keep everything except quest items (example, you don't have any of the keys you collected through the fist playthrough).

This is the only way you get trophies since some demon souls are used for multiple spells. Also the difficulty gets much harder (specially on NG++, at least I'm told).

The difficulty increase from NG to NG+ is fairly significant, however, on average every new game after that difficulty increases by about 8%.

Im not sure if its just luck or it really does get harder, but bosses really kicked my ass on NG++ compared to NG+. I also hate the swamp of level 5 with every fiber of my being. Reduced movement sucks.

I'm on my third run. When I started my second there was a noticeable increase in difficulty, third time it almost seems easier. I am however level 150 with all the best gear in the game so that may play a part in it.

Did you activate the special upgrades first by taking him the Flamelurkers soul?

There's no physical alcove to hide in when fighting Armor Spider. It's just that if you stand on the left side far enough back you can hit him with arrows or magic while he can't hit you due to the trajectory of his fireballs.

-Edit : You may still get hit by his web, however.

There's no Demon's Souls server in Europe

I've just been farming 1-3 heading backwards to the 2 blue-eyes knights and 3 archers then resetting.

Now I just go at the end of 1-3 (Penetrator's archstone) and head back and kill the 3 red eyes. They gave me 3000 souls each on PBWT then about 2000 on normal tendency. That's fairly interesting, especially after they become a trivial kill (they're about very easy with Ward spell)

Ok I need help, I'm in Tower of Latria 3-1, I've gone down to the first floor and back to Rydell. I cant open anymore cells, neither his nor Freke's. This is pissing me off. I've ran back and forth through this level twice now. Every cell door that is left closed is locked and I can't find anymore keys. I don't think I have the 2F keys though...

NVM, I went outside before and the cutscene didn't happen. Now that I went through again it did.......

NVM again, waste of money. I'm done with this game. After and hour of running through this damn HORRIBLY DESIGNED level I get jacked from behind 1-hit kill. Screw you Atlas.
