Modern Marvels is one of my favorite programs!! Also, MAN MOMENT MACHINE!

There's also that gun show with R. Lee Ermey Lock N' Load. What's that western one with David Carridine?

Love The History Channel.

I loved The History Channel back when it featured...well, history. Now it seems every time I turn it on there is some about the end of the world, Nostradamus, UFOs, cryptozoology or some other New Age, woo-woo nonsense. This sort of programming is just unintelligent, uniformed, unscientific, easy, dumbing-down television. (How about a show featuring skeptics investigating things like Nostradamus, UFOs, etc.?) I never liked "reality" TV, so your shows about things like pawn shops, lumberjacks and truck drivers do nothing for me either.

On the upside, I do like R. Lee Ermey. I also like any other program that will teach me about something interesting. How about updating Cosmos?

the history channel has really lost itself! it got caught up in the reality show bandwagon and is not true to it's roots anymore! more shows like the jfk assassination are a must!

Yes! Please!

Oliver Stone's JFK did way more than enough damage to this important and tragic moment in history! They need to re-educate people that believe these myths that have no truths to them.

________________

Now if you all remember when this channel first started, it seemed that all they had were shows about Hitler's attempted assassination shown on a loop over and over again.

I remember a joke from the Drew Carey show that mentioned this by saying that without WWII there would be no 'History Channel'. Har-har

Ice Road Truckers was ok but please, no 'crime documentaries' or 'Gangland' specials. If I wanted that I would just turn to the 'A&E' channel! That's all that they have on there anymore! They have cornered the market on crime. They need to change their name!

All I want is lots of history! Specially from the other side of the globe. Also more R. Lee Ermey! You can never have to much of him.

History International shows a lot of actual history shows. But, many of them first aired on the History Channel and it's not in HD around my area. Still good to see shows on it like Banned from the Bible, Building an Empire, and many other good shows.

Right. I actually LOVE 'History International'. However the non HD tends to keep me from checking it out more than I should.

Not sure if it was on The History Channel, but people here have been mentioning a JFK assasination show... The show I was watching was called "3 Shots: JFK". Was that on THC? I thought it was stunning, but unfortunately had to go to work or something... and had to leave before Oswald got shot by Ruby. The show was made up of footage I'd never seen before and since it was in chronological order, I could imagine what it would have been like for my Dad to watch it as a kid.

I'm not sure what channel it was either, but I have to agree, it was probably the best show of this nature that I've ever seen. Just archive footage indispersed with a few title frames following the timeline between the Kennedy's arrival in Texas to the death of Oswald.

Yeah. I completely agree with repete66211 here. It's fine to have those shows every once in a while, but not all the time. And if you can't make shows about actual history, at least make ones that are related to it or talk about snapshots of real things, like Modern Marvels, Clash of the Gods, and Jurassic Fight Club.

I don't have to.

Just check out the four or is it now five JFK conspiracy disapproval shows having run on channels such as 'National Geographic', 'Discovery' and 'History' that have aired in the last few of years.

The one show on the 'National Geo' channel was really fascinating in that they were nearly able to DUPLICATE that magic bullet shot in ONE TRY. A real eye opener there for sure!

There was another one with Peter Jennings that was really ripping into Oliver Stone.

But anyway...

I have to admit that I used to side with the Oswald not acting alone crowd myself.
