I hear people usually go with the PERFORMANCE mode. Personally I have it on for everything that I watch.

just a little update, still have my pio 5020, its been calibrated for the past few months. I work a part time at best buy in the home theater area and love getting to walk around and see how glad I am that I made the best pick on a tv.

Yeah I know about the 10G tech. But I was told it has the 10G glass. How could glass affect the black levels? I just wish they would of put out a 60" version with the 10G parts. Either way I'm happy with both my Kuros

I don't think I have "Performance" mode on my set. I wonder if that setting would be considered "Standard" on the 600M?

Yup! Performance is Standard on the M series, while Standard from the XX20s and the 111s n 151s is User mode on the Ms.

a little of the thread but, how different is the krp-ts02 stand from the pdk-ts23?

Vanns.com is sending me a pdk-ts23 with my krp order. I dont know what this looks like.

some places are selling a krp-ts02 PM which is not what i am looking for. I want the gloss finish stand that matches the bezel.

If anyone knows please let me know of the cheapest place to get it.
thanks

I originally got the krp-ts02PM with my 500M. I didn't like it because it looked cheap as it's made of sheet metal with no gloss. I bought the krp-ts02 from Pioneer's website and it's great! It is glossy and matches the panel but it cost $200.

I got the PDK-ts23 with mine from Vanns. I don't mind it. I kinda like the black brushed metal finish on it instead of the glossy black finish on the krp-ts02 .

That's where I picked my TV and stand from . Very nice guys to deal with. I picked up the pdk-ts23 off an auction from eBay and didn't realize that the sellers were local. The pdk is black but I would not describe it as glossy by any means. I'd say a dull non-reflective black. IMO it does match the TV very well.

Anyways some people prefer the look of the glossy stand while others don't. I chose the pdk because there was a mention that it was much more solid/heavier than the krp-02 (have a 2yo running around). They're right that stand is pretty beefy. I've also read that depending the viewing height of the TV, some people complained of seeing reflections from the glossy krp-02 stand.

I gotta agree with that. I was looking at pics of both stands to determine which one I had and that was the first thing I noticed when comparing them.

Also once a while a reviewer has mention a Pioneer Elite screen does not have as good as black levels as a non Elite screen. The reason for this is slight differences in production quality of components. Even in computers with memory and CPU chips there are quality differences with the same exact brand and model that allows one person to over clock a PC more then another. The Pioneer Elite Signature series monitors has hand picked parts and the production quality difference between Elite Signature series displays is smaller compared to other Pioneer models.
This is spot on. It's very easy to hear hand picked and say that's not worth any extra money or what ever reason. Also I am pretty sure the sigs are hand made.

I used to over clock PC's, I would always buy 4gigs of ram (needing only 2 back then) of the same make and brand. And over clock each one separate and the results vary greatly.

Shockwave, totally off-topic but hows the VUDU box treating you? The one in your bedroom, is that the HD capable one?

Hmm interesting. Strange that it should be an issue, my 320 and 51 turn on and off with that button. Wonder why your 23 is being difficult!
