Thumbs up Question about Paramount Blu-ray availability

Hi. Now that Paramount has dropped Blu-ray support, would I be correct in assuming that once their current BDs sell out that will be the end of them?

Also, is there a site where I can find a list of all the Paramount titles (and any other studios who have dropped support) so I can figure out whether I need to pick anything up before they're gone? Thanks a lot.

Yes

and yes, this one. Go into the movies section and search by studio. No other studio has jumped ship though.

Hey Deadster - welcome to the forum!

Yes, once Paramount's existing supply of BDs are sold, they're gone for good. Here's the list on the site that you may find useful.

Thanks for the info. I thought Dreamworks flipped too, maybe they are considered part of Paramount.

And thanks for the welcome, I have lurked for a couple weeks and find this to be a great forum.

Picked up Sleepy Hollow this weekend from Amazon. Came yesterday. I wanted it to start with but not enough to add it to the BUY NOW list. However, I had some spare change and picked it up.

Probably the only Paramount film I will get.

I wouldn't bother. JMO though. I fell asleep both times I tried to watch it.

I've found plenty copies of MI 3 at BBY & CC should be no problem locating it.

I can get it at BestBuy but I want to try getting it cheaper on eBay. It's $32.99 at the cheapest here in Toronto.

DrinkMore: I loved it, non-stop action!

I actually liked MI3 better than two, that's for sure. Yes, Cruise is nuts and he's really not that great as an actor (Born on the fourth of July excluded), but the film was a lot better than I expected... that being completely worthless.

Default Question About Titles

Did the movie NEXT make it out before the cut off? DVDplanet list it as temp. out, Amazon does not show it? Also, is Ghost, Office and a Gent., Top Gun, and Flashdance still coming out, or were they just announced and never released?/

Thanks!

I have seen some different titles in the UK, is the Paramount thing world wide or just US. Also, I noticed that Bruce Almighty (Universal Title) was on Blu-ray! What the freak? I thought they were a HD-DVD only supplier!!

Bruce Almighty is distributed by Buena Vista (Disney) in UK and Australia.

OneBigJedi : there is a whole world out there

many movies (most) tend to be distributed by different companies in different regions. Sometimes it is split runs because the studio wanted to hedge the bet by not putting all the money (so Bruce Almighty is Universal in the US butBVHE in the UK and most of the rest of the world. Other times it is because markets are too small (or difiicult to get into) so a local studio does the distribution.

If you don't already have The Untouchables, I would get it. The transfer is fantastic. It looks almost three-dimensional in parts.

I like the Paramount transfers for the most part (sharp and contrasty) preserving grain.
