OMFG!I think I just filled the cup

Can you imagine that? Thats going to be insane. I wonder how much those are going to be! I want to get one and start a theater room.

P.S. It even comes with 8" exhaust ;-) serious

Actually, yes....well sorta. I've got 3 bedrooms where I'm knocking down the 2 walls that seperate them. Should leave me with a room that is 30' x 50'. As I know that the regular 1080P would be sufficient, its the same concept as people buying 32" 1080P tv's.. lol But I think this would make quite a difference. Besides... no need to hold back from what the future is bringing us.

Wow ... in seriousness though, depending how close you sit to the screen maybe you could get away with a 10 or 12-ft 4k image, a super-sharp and super-bright one.

As for people who say that 1080p is indistinguishable on (e.g.) a 32" screen, they forget that the actual cinema has a front row.

The list price for the Sony SXRD-S110 which features a 10,000 lumen light source is about US$100k, without a lens.

It is able to display a single 4k image, or up to 4 2k (1920x1080) images.

It also requires a 220V power supply to drive it but so do most e-Cinema grade projectors and projectors in that brightness bracket, so that's no surprise.

Thats a bit above the $5-8,000 that I had the money for haha
